Violet Evergarden OST – The Stench of Fear and Hatred
Composed by: Evan Call
It was dark and dim, with only the road lights showering the roads and pathways with enough lights to drive and walk.
The moon that was blanketed behind large patches of clouds was starting to peek out from behind them, allowing its rays of pure moonlight to grace itself from its hiding spot and shine down on the land below. The light slowly grew stronger as the clouds were blown to one side.
Streaks of the moonlight wafted its way through the many windows in a big room which was a level of a building, revealing the horrendous scene that had unfolded in that specific spacious big room.
Unpleasant was one word to describe it. Yet it was an underestimation of the whole situation. Gory might be another word one could use.
Thick dark red liquid seeped out from a fallen body on the wooden floor. The red-coloured pool grew larger as more accumulated from the bottom, touching the front soles of a combat boot worn by a person. The foot moved away from the dark red liquid, reeling away in disgust. But before they could move any further away, a hand shot out and grabbed the ankle of the person the boot belonged to.
The body that was thought to be dead, twitched and groaned in pain before the head was lifted upwards. A trail of the red liquid poured out from the side of his mouth and his right temple, dripping over his left eye. His lips moved slowly, as if to speak something, yet talking was difficult for him.
"Y-You monster! You *cough* killed all my friends...!"
"Monster huh? ..."
"D-Do-...Don't thi...think that you w-would get aw-way with th-...th-this...!" The person on the floor choked out, coughing out blood from his mouth as pain engulfed his senses the more he tried to push his voice out from his throat.
The person whose ankle was caught just stared down at him with darkened eyes. A sly, sinister smile appeared on the person's face moments later.
"Oya? Didn't you know?" The person spoke out, their eyes glinting with mischief and malice. A pistol with a silencer on it appeared out from nowhere on the palm of their hand and within a second, a muted shot rang out and the bullet found its way into the stranger's right leg. A scream tore through his mouth before it was cut off with someone else shoved the tip of their shoe into the person's mouth, muffling his scream as he half choked half gag from the sudden intrusion of a dirtied, foul taste of a shoe.
"We always, always, get away with things." This time, their eyes narrowed on the male on the floor. Another muted shot rang out and the bullet found its way into the person's arm which held onto the ankle. Another muffled scream boomed out. The grip loosened, but it still hung there, clinging onto the other person's ankle for dear life. The person below lifted his head. Tears streamed down the sides of his face with a pain-stricken expression plastered on. But his eyes were glaring brightly with fire in his eyes. Bright filled with animosity and loathe.
