Mercedes

"..babe!!" August yelled from downstairs. I paused the tv as I went downstairs..

"Yes?" I asked as I started walking up to him, slowing up.

"My moms out the hospital but she gon need some supervision help though." He started.

"Ok so.." I trailed off.

"I was gonna let her stay here for a few days but I was just telling you."

"I'm glad she's out of the hospital but you know she hates me." I said with a pout.

"She doesn't hate you."

"But she does."

"No she doesn't , can you do it fa me?"

"Of course I don't mind I just..don't wanna irritate her or something." I said with a shrug .

"You won't , come on , she's coming this evening so I'm bout to make a trip to the grocery store."

"K hold on." I said and went upstairs and slipped some shoes on , fixing my shirt then went back downstairs as he was walking out.

" eggs check, bread check, milk check , ok that's last on the list. I think we got everything." I said looking up from the list, he nodded.

"Ok wait didn't the doctor tell you to get some vitamins ?" He said , I snapped my finger, remembering.

"Yeah ill get it and meet you at the register."

"Ok."

I walked down the through the store down the medicine aisle. I got on it and started looking for the vitamins.

"Um excuse me , do you see the Tylenol ?"

I looked around the shelves and saw some and turned around handed it to the guy.

"Thanks ." He said with a smile and I smiled back, he looked familiar.

"You're welcome." I said. He was kinda staring at me when he kinda gasped.

" Mercedes?" He asked, I nodded still not figuring out who he was.

"It's me Isaiah , remember?" He asked making a funny face. I smiled wide and chuckled.

" yes!! Isaiah how have you been?" I asked after giving him a hug.

"Good , how bout you?" He asked, I nodded.

"I've been fine. It's good to see you after all those years , wow!" I said still surprised . He nodded.

"Yeah you too. You've grew up, not the same best friend I grew up with when we were like 5." He stated, I shrugged.

"You've changed a lot too, how come you're here, didn't you move to Oregon?" I asked, he nodded.

"Yeah I did but I moved back down here , staying with my grandma for a while." He said . I nodded.

"Ok then that's cool." I said then my phone started ringing.

"Hold on."

"hello?..oh August I'm sorry I'm coming now..ok bye!" I said and hung up. "Hey Isaiah I'm sorry but I got to go!"

"Ok that's fine , can we keep in touch?"

"Of course , gotta keep my best friend again." I said as I grabbed his phone as he handed it to me. I gave him mine and gave his back as I got mine back.
