Beca couldn't believe she was going out with Chloe later tonight, after both of their shifts end of course. Hell she couldn't even believe she showed Chloe what she really was and that she accepted her. Although Beca is happy about how that turned out, she's not exactly happy how she has to babysit Zara again. Beca just hopes Zara doesn't compel her to do something stupid like last time. I mean she never made her kill anyone against her will, but she did compel Beca to do what she said and when she says it. Since Zara is from an original bloodline, that means she can compel other vampires to do her bidding. Not this time though, Zara knows this time that Beca is in charge. Beca would gladly kill Zara if she even stepped out of line again. Beca shakes her head as she grabs some files from the file cabinet and headed towards the filing room. "Hey Beca, they got you on filing duty?" Beca looked up from the files in her hand and saw Vanessa staring at her with an amused smile on her face. Beca sighed and nodded, "More like Dr. Kahale has me doing his paperwork for him. I swear that man is just as lazy as I am." Beca said smashing the papers in order in the filing cabinet and shutting the door halfway. Vanessa chuckled and walked over to Beca's previous cabinet and shut it all the way for her. "I think you have Dr. Kahale beat at the laziness competition there Becs." Beca groaned, "yeah, yeah, yeah. Tell me something I don't know." Beca said pulling more files from the folder Kahale gave her. They both laughed together as they got back to work at filing more paperwork. "So, I finally got a piece of my artwork in an art show." Vanessa told Beca nonchalantly. Beca's eyes widened and turned towards her, with excitement in her eyes. "No way! Vanessa that's great!" Vanessa smiled widely, "I know, finally after six years of begging and showing them that I can do this. It finally paid off, maybe I can actually pursue that dream instead of this one. Don't get me wrong I love helping people Becs, it's just this job can get to you sometimes." Vanessa said shrugging slightly. Beca nodded and agreed with her, although she was used to having death around her. But beca knows Vanessa has always been a bit sensitive to that sort of stuff. "I understand, Hey when another door closes another one opens and all that bullshit." Beca said waving her hand around. Vanessa cheered up and chuckled, nudging Beca's shoulder with hers. "Hey maybe you can even come to this one. Since ya know, you were never able to before." Vanessa said with a bit of a distant tone. Beca sometimes regrets compelling Vanessa to think she was a shit girlfriend. Vanessa always finds a way to tell her what she didn't do. Beca cleared her throat awkwardly and nodded, "Yea sure, when is it?" Vanessa snapped her neck towards Beca quickly, "Really?! You'll come?!" Vanessa asked Beca excitingly. Beca chuckled, "Of course I'll be there, I wouldn't miss this for the entire world Ness." Beca said smiling at Vanessa gently. Vanessa bit her lip, smiling. "I miss that..." Beca scrunched her eyebrows together confusedly, "miss what?" Vanessa smiled ruefully, "you called me Ness." Beca blushed and rubbed the back of her neck nervously, "Yeah I guess I did. Is that okay?" Beca asked her unsurely. Vanessa nodded enthusiastically, "Of course! I just meant that I miss everything about us. How we used to laugh about nothing in particular, how you held me, you made me feel like I was the only girl in the world Becs...I mean when we broke up it was kinda hard for me to get back into a regular routine again, ya know?" Vanessa said sighing heavily. Beca just stood there speechless, she didn't know what to say to all of that. I mean how could she? Vanessa basically called her a monster when she told her the truth about herself. How is she feeling guilty right now?! Sometimes she hated herself for turning her emotions back on. Vanessa noticed Beca not saying anything so she continued, "Sorry for just unloading that on to you, but I feel like we never talked about it before now. God, what I'm trying to say is that...I miss you." Vanessa said looking into Beca's eyes with tears in them. To be completely honest? Beca missed her too, I mean they started out as just friends after all until they both caught feelings for one another. "I miss you too, a lot." Vanessa smiled, "I'm glad I'm not the only one, I was practically going crazy with holding that in for so long." Vanessa said letting out a sigh of relief. Beca chuckled, "Well then I'm glad we worked that out. Do you wanna go get some lunch with me after we finish this?" Beca asked Vanessa, lifting up the paperwork in her hands. Vanessa nodded eagerly, "I would love nothing more."
