Chapter 21: Hiding

"What do you mean she's not dead?!" Beca screamed in rage as she clutched onto Chloe's lifeless body with tears steaming down her face. Jesse felt extremely horrible for what happened to Chloe, but it had to be done to get Beca back. "I'm so sorry we had to do that to you and Chloe Beca, but Lily said an act of true lo-" Beca couldn't even listen to him anymore as she was so relieved that Chloe wasn't dead. Beca moved her hands to position them at Chloe's back and legs as she stood up with Chloe in her arms. Beca then rushed Chloe upstairs to her room and laid there staring at her until she awakened. "Do you think we went too far? I mean I'm sure there was other ways for-" Lily interrupted him with a shake of her head. "We didn't have any time to figure out another way Jesse. Luke has something planned for Boston and it isn't a good one." Jesse looked at Lily in concern. "What do you mean he has something planned? I thought he just wanted Beca because he was an obsessed asshole and nothing more." Lily sighed heavily as she wasn't prepared to tell Jesse so early what she seen in some of her visions. "He didn't want Beca because he missed her Jesse. He wanted her because she carries something in her blood. Beca is an heir to one of mother's originals, the first she turned. The original she's been descended from is half vampire half werewolf. Somehow she didn't become one when she was first born, I guess when Luke turned her it boosted her system into gear. That's how he's making his hybrids, he got ahold of her blood and has been making them ever since. Until he's run out, which is why he came back for her." Jesse sat down in worry as he rubbed his forehead. "So you're telling me he's possibly making an army of those things? For what? He wants to take over Boston? Jeez this guy just doesn't know when to quit does he?" Lily nodded as she shooed Selena away from them. "We've got to leave Jesse, we can hide as long as we can just until Beca gets her werewolf side under control. We wait for Chloe to wake up then we have to move, before Luke realizes what's happened. Selena and I will get a car, enough to fit us all." Jesse nodded as they both went upstairs to make sure the house was secure enough to leave.

Chloe groaned as she woke up to major pain in her neck. "That...bitch." Beca smiled widely as she let out a gasp of relief. "Chloe? Baby? Are you okay?" Chloe got up with another groan as she rubbed the back of her neck. "As good as I can be, I mean I did just get my neck broken because I wanted my girlfriend back. What makes it even better is that it was by the girl that decided to kiss you! Also what makes it even better is that she's your ex apparently!" Chloe shouted as Beca just smiled at her lovingly. "Oh which by the wa-!" Beca interrupted her as she smashed their lips together passionately, making Chloe moan in surprise and clutch onto Beca's leather jacket. Beca smiled into the kiss making them break apart. "I missed you..." Chloe's eyes barely opened as she felt dazed by just one kiss from this dangerous vampire. "I missed you too, even though you tried to kill me an abundance of times, I think I lost count actually." Beca chuckled quietly as she kissed Chloe's lips one last time. "I'm sorry I tried to do that, Luke compelled me too. I promise I wouldn't have hurt you, I love you Chloe...more than anything." Chloe smiled widely as she pecked Beca's lips slowly. "I'm just glad it worked, also this ring is super cool. Can I keep this?" Chloe said as she showed Beca the ring, making Beca chuckle once more. Beca's room door then opened to reveal Selena on the other side. "Hey sorry to break the love fest in here, but we have to go." Beca looked at her confusedly as did Chloe, but with a little jealously. "What? Go where?"

"We're staying here? Seriously? Out of all the places to lay low at, its a creepy cabin in the woods?" Jesse said as he slung his backpack full of clothes over his shoulder, as they all looked at their cabins for the night.

Lily didn't answer him as she was the first to go inside. Selena laughed as Jesse swatted away a bug in front of his face with a screech. "Hey, I know I'm a big bad wolf and all but I don't want to actually live in the woods." Lily rolled her eyes at him as she ushered everyone inside one of the cabins. "Obviously this is where Jesse, Selena, and I will be sleeping. Beca and Chloe you get the other cabin." Jesse frowned as did Selena, but she wasn't as noticeable. "What? Why do they get a cabin of their own? Plus what if Beca and Chloe need protection? I'm the only one who could kick another werewolves ass if I needed too." Lily sighed as she glared at him. "Beca doesn't need protection, she needs to rest without feeling as if she has to babysit an overgrown werewolf." Jesse smacked his lips in protest as she held up her hand to get him to stop talking all together. "Not another word Jesse, we have a big day tomorrow. Beca, please you need rest we don't have much time to get you ready." Beca's eyebrows scrunched together in confusion and was about to question Lily, but Chloe pulled Beca to their cabin before she could. "What does she mean by that? What do I have to get ready for?" Chloe bit her lip nervously as she saw Beca look at her confusedly. "Well you went haywire for about two weeks with Luke and then Jesse and I spent all of our time looking for you. We got no where of course until we saw you at the hospital...you killed someone by the way." Beca nodded as she felt her stance widen in sudden realization. "I know...I killed them without any second thought, that's how it is for us...no emotions and you're nothing but a killing machine. I've killed many in those two weeks, but it wasn't me Chloe. You know I would have never hurt those people if I had my emotions, you know that-that I-" Chloe nodded in understanding as she saw Beca's eyes well up in tears and shame, as she ran up to embrace Beca in a tight comforting hug. "I know that Beca, you weren't yourself. Luke was pulling all of the strings, but he isn't anymore. You're a good person Beca and good people are allowed to make mistakes. I love you Beca, and all of us are here for you. Now, let's get some sleep before Lily bursts in here and puts a spell on us." Beca chuckled with a sniffle as she wiped the tears on her face and Chloe nudged her towards the bedroom.

"What if she can't control that side of herself Lily? Then what? Because I'm pretty sure we would all be hybrid snacks to her eventually." Selena said with a grumble as she paced back and forth their own cabin. Lily ignored her as she read the book that was currently in her hands. Jesse sighed as he just stared at the two of them weirdly. "So you guys knew Beca way back when, I'm guessing she slept with one of you." Selena stopped pacing as she sent a glare his way and Lily chuckled quietly. "Ok I'm guessing it was the latter, my bad for being curious and don't worry about Beca. I'm sure I can talk to her when she's all wolfed out." Jesse said with a confident smile. Lily then set her book down to look at him. "Jesse Beca isn't a normal wolf, she's a hybrid wolf. Meaning she's stronger than you and would think of you as a snack as well if she ever saw you in your own wolf form." Jesse frowned with a pout as Selena smirked at him with a laugh. "She's also not going to be a full wolf like you, hybrid means she's half. She won't be a fully transitioned wolf, meaning she's more dangerous. She wouldn't hesitate to kill any of us if she randomly started to transition. That's why we have to be careful not to trigger anything inside of her too soon. Now that her emotions are back she's going to be very sensitive to what's she done during those two weeks Luke has controlled her. It's going to be difficult but I believe we can do it." Jesse and Selena sighed as they nodded in agreement.
