Chapter 22: Love

"No! Please stop!" Beca cried out in her sleep making Chloe who was laid beside her startle awake to find Beca next to her constantly turning and moaning in pain. "Beca? Beca? Baby wake up, are you okay?" Chloe started to shake her and Beca's eyes immediately opened in mild fear. Chloe saw Beca looked at her frightened for a moment, but that look soon disappeared when they locked eyes together and she saw Chloe's bright baby blue eyes. "Oh god, I'm sorry Chlo, I sometimes get nightmares. I didn't mean to wake you." Chloe shook her head as she cuddled into Beca's side. "Beca it's totally okay, you needed some rest anyways." Chloe looked over at the clock on the bedside table to find it was only nine in the morning. "Besides, I'm pretty sure Lily wants you up early anyways." Beca nodded with a sigh as she held Chloe tighter against her body. "I don't understand why, I mean it feels like I don't know what I've done, even though I do. I feel awful Chloe...all those people I've killed when I didn't have my emotions...I'm a Murderer. I don't see how you could just easily forgive me for what I've tried to do to you and what I have done to others." Chloe shook her head once more as she sat up to kiss Beca's lips gently. "It wasn't you, you're not a monster Beca. Even though you kept telling yourself that the truth is you're just not." Beca huffed as she sat up quickly leaning down to pull her pants on her waist. "I've killed Chloe! I've been killing humans ever since I was turned all those years ago! I didn't care back then! The funny thing is, I can't even remember their names let alone what they looked like. What kind of person kills people and doesn't even remember what they look like? I am a monster and I always will be..." Chloe looked at Beca sadly as Beca left the room in a flash without another word towards her. Beca didn't look back as she used her speed to run into the woods carelessly. Beca then stopped running once she heard someone was following her. "What do you want Selena?" Selena huffed as she crossed her arms over her chest in annoyance. "What I want? What I want?! Well let's see, I want you to actually see that this isn't all about you! Bad shit is going to happen whether you like it or not. I don't know if you knew this or your eyes were too busy eating anything with a pulse to notice that Luke already made a hybrid army with your blood! and he's going to continue to make them if you don't fight back. So I need you to get your head out of your ass for one measly second and stop fighting with your girlfriend about how you think you're a monster. News flash Beca! We all are monsters, but we learn to live and let go. Hell, we've got an eternity to educate ourselves. Now would you please, go and find Lily, so I don't have to drag your sorry ass to her myself." Beca was left speechless as she eventually nodded and went back towards the way she came. After Beca left to go back to the cabins, Selena let out a breath of relief as tears slid down her face.

"So...what you're telling me is I'm an original hybrid because someone in my family was one as well and it just passed down to generation to generation?" Beca asked Lily in confusion. Lily stood silent for a moment realizing how silly everything seemed, but eventually nodded confirming it to Beca. Beca sighed heavily as she sat down in the chair behind her bewildered. "Well, What happens now? I magically turn into a wolf? Because I don't think that's going to happen, and shouldn't I already have wolfed out by now? I mean, it's been three decades of just prancing around as a normal vampire! Man this sucks, no offense Jess, but I really don't want to smell anything like you." Jesse pouted as he sniffed himself and nodded in agreement. Lily rolled her eyes at Beca as she sighed and sat up in her chair. "First of all you won't smell anything like Jesse, your smell will be unique to vampires and werewolves alike." Beca scrunched her eyebrows together in confusion. "What do you mean will be?" Lily sighed once more as she set her spell book down in front of her as she looked at Beca once more. "You're not a full hybrid Beca, well not yet at least. Since someone in your bloodline was the original hybrid, you're going to become the last. I'm pretty sure the last original hybrid died before you were born, and lucky you, you get to carry out the family tradition." Beca's eyes widened in mild panic as she breathed out a sharp breath. "What?! Wait, how do you know all of this? And why didn't you tell me this when we first became acquainted?!" Lily bit her lip as she felt guilty for a moment. "I didn't know at the time Beca, I was barely getting used to being a witch. Of course if I did know I would have kept you close so I could help you, but luckily I'm here now. My grandma told me all about you and your bloodline when I had a close call last year." Beca scoffed as she crossed her arms against her chest in hurt. "What do you mean a close call? Did you almost die? Wait you have a witch grandmother?" Lily nodded as she picked her spell book back up. "In January last year I got ran off the road by a drunk driver. I was dead for a couple of minutes, until someone revived me. During that time my grandmother told me to find you again, that you needed me. Basically I needed to help you transition so that Luke won't destroy the entirety of Boston." Beca stood there speechless as Jesse chimed in behind her. "So all I got from that is Beca's my new running buddy now." Selena huffed at the silly wolf as Chloe smacked him upside the head. "I'm gonna transition? I'm scared to even ask how that's going to happen...or how I'm going to look like. What if I can't control that side of me Lily? What if I hurt you guys? I don't know if I can-" Jesse then came up behind Beca to clasp her shoulder in comfort. "Beca, I think Lily knows what she's doing. I'm sure she could stop you with a flick of her wrist, right Lily?" Lily opened her mouth to protest, but Selena interrupted quickly. "Yes! Of course she does, I mean she is the founding witches granddaughter, plus I'll be here to help you stay in check as well." Selena said with a sly wink making Beca roll her eyes at her and Chloe seethe behind her in jealously. "Fine, so what now?" Beca asked exasperated as she pushed Jesse's hand off of her shoulder as he pouted. "Well my grandmother told me how you're going to transition and believe me when I say this Beca, you're not going to like it."
