Chapter 13: Be with me Forever?

"Wow, So you really steal blood bags from the blood bank? I thought you drank animals blood." Chloe said with a cute frown on her face. Beca scrunched her nose up at the mention of drinking animal blood. "Just because Edward drinks it in Twlight, doesn't mean real vampires do." Chloe giggled and sat down at Beca's dining room table, while Beca sipped down her concoction of blood. "Well why don't you? Does it taste bad or something?" Chloe asked her curiously. Beca shrugged and nodded slightly. "It's not a horrible taste but it's not exactly a good taste either. As long as I can remember we just don't do it. Maybe it has to do with the fact that a werewolf is an animal as well and that's a big no no for us vampires." Chloe nodded in understanding. "So it's true you guys don't get along with werewolves and vice versa?" Beca shrugged and nodded slightly again as she sat down across from an intrigued Chloe. "Let's just say some vampires can make peace with them as they can make peace with us. Expect for some vampires who have been taught to hate their kind since they were turned. Just so you know, I've never been like that." Chloe nodded once more and reached out to grab Beca's resting hand that was on the table. "I would never assume that you were like that. So, just out of morbid curiosity, how can one be turned?" Chloe asked Beca innocently. Beca licked her lips and answered Chloe honestly. "Well it is kind of like how it is in the movies. Some humans get bit or they're born into the vampire culture. Actually another way is for that said vampire to share blood with you." Chloe scrunched her eyebrows together in confusion. Beca laughed as she continued on. "For example, if a human would get hurt my kind would share their blood with them, making them ingest their blood to heal faster. In some cases, the humans would die in some way and they would still have the vampire's blood in their systems. Therefore they're in the undead party forever." Beca said as she cheered her cup up and winked at Chloe playfully. Chloe giggled as she tangled their fingers together. "So, in some odd way your blood is like a virus?" Beca hummed as she drank the last contents in her cup. "Yea, I guess you could say that." Chloe knew she was testing the waters a bit when she asked Beca this question, but she had to ask just in case she wanted to be what Beca was now. "So, what is it like?" Beca looked at her in confusion. "What?" Chloe shrugged her shoulders in innocence. "Ya know, being a vampire?" Beca was about to answer Chloe's question but heard the front door slam open. "Honey, I'm home!" Beca rolled her eyes at the instant of Jesse's annoying shout. Chloe just laughed as she pulled away from Beca's hand on the table and turned around. "Becs you're never gonna guess what happened tonight! Oh, hey Chloe." Jesse said with excitement, as he entered the kitchen and threw his coat on the coat rack. Beca huffed as she already missed Chloe's warm hand upon her cold one. "You have impeccable timing as always Jess." Jess giggled as he sat down on the third dining room chair. "Oh stop brooding you big gay vampire, some of us have things to actually be excited about." Chloe laughed loudly at Jesse's comments as Beca halfheartedly glared at him. "Well go on then, share the news with the whole gang why don't you." Jesse nodded and squealed. "Okay! So obviously you know about my crush on Benji and I kind of couldn't hold it in anymore-" Beca groaned as Jesse kept rambling. "Jess please spit it out already." Jesse huffed but nodded while squawking out. "I asked Benji out on a date and he said yes!" Chloe squealed along with him and stood up to hug him in a death grip. Beca smiled as she clapped him on the back. "Finally, So when is it?" Chloe released him as he went to the fridge and pulled out a beer. "Tomorrow night actually." Beca frowned at that information, did Jesse forget the full moon was tomorrow night? "Jess can I talk to you for a second?" Beca said gesturing towards the living room. Jesse nodded as they both got up and told Chloe they would be right back. "Are you fucking insane?!" Beca whispered heatedly at Jesse as Chloe eyed them both curiously in the kitchen a few feet away. Jesse scrunched his eyebrows together in pain and pouted at Beca. "I know Beca, but this is like once in a lifetime for me! Benji couldn't get a day off until this Friday, what else am I supposed to do?" Beca sighed heavily in frustration as she smiled at Chloe fakely and returned her attention back to Jesse. "I don't know Jesse but you better figure it out! What happens when you get out of control again? You almost bit our supervisor last time. All I'm saying is to please be careful. Do that whole meat in the woods thing. Hell it worked last time why wouldn't it this time?" Beca asked him as she patted his shoulder in reassurance. Jesse nodded in determination. "You're right, you're completely right. The full moon doesn't rise until seven pm anyways and our date is at five. A whole two hours should be enough Jesse time for good old Benji." Beca nodded with a sigh of relief. "Good, but if you do go full wolf mode then please text or call me before hand so I can help you." Jesse nodded and hugged Beca briefly. "I will, thanks Becs." They both walked back to Chloe and all shared an evening together happily, for the time being.

"So, when are you gonna turn Chloe?" Jesse asked Beca as soon as they said their goodbyes to Chloe a couple hours ago. Beca glared at Jesse as he shrugged his shoulders on the couch. "I'm just saying, I haven't seen you this happy in awhile. Well except that one time with you and Vanessa, but she kind of fucked that one up didn't she?" Jesse said with a short laugh as he sipped his luke warm beer. Beca sighed and nodded, maybe she would still be with Vanessa now if she didn't show her what she truly was. "Sure Vanessa made me happy, but Chloe makes me feel things that I haven't felt in forever." Beca said as she too sipped her bourbon. "Like what?" Jesse asked her out of morbid curiosity. Beca smiled slightly as she looked over at Jesse. "When she looks at me I know she sees Beca and not the monster I truly am. Chloe sees something in me that I don't even know what yet Jess, it's just...she makes me feel like I'm human again. I swear to god I can still feel my heartbeat when she's around me. I didn't know I could feel this way about anyone, let alone a human." Just then Beca's face turned full of panic. "Oh god Jess, what if she wants me to turn her in the future?! I can't do that to her!" Jesse's face scrunched in confusion and turned towards Beca. "What makes you say that?" Beca licked her lips nervously. "Well she was asking me all kinds of questions about my kind. About how we turn humans, what we eat, and what it feels like to be a vampire. What if she wants me to turn her?" Beca asked Jesse with a pained expression. "Well what if she does? Do you want to turn her?" Jesse asked Beca seriously. Beca was about to answer but she sat there speechless. Would she even want to turn Chloe into the monster she is? She couldn't...could she? Could she make Chloe go through centuries of bloodlust? Could she make Chloe watch as her friends die around her? Could she make Chloe be with her forever? She would be lying if she said she didn't want that. That she didn't want to be with Chloe for an entire eternity. She did, she wants to be with Chloe for as long as she would have her for. But...she wants that to be Chloe's choice. If Chloe asked her she would have to show her what it truly means to be a vampire. What it feels like to have your entire body feel like it's on fire on the inside because of the blood-thirst your inner monster craves. How when you kill your first human you feel this immense amount of guilt that you have to switch off your emotions before the pain becomes the only thing you can feel. If Chloe truly wanted to be with her forever...she needs to understand what it is to be a vampire.
