Chapter 16: Coming Clean

"So tell me everything Mitchell and don't leave a single detail out." Chloe said as she held Beca's hand in her own. Beca sighed with a nod. "A long time ago my sire used to make me watch over a royal princess so he could get closer to mother." Chloe looked at her confusedly. "Wait what? Mother? What is she like every other vampires mother?" Chloe said with a chuckle. Beca looked at her blankly making Chloe stop laughing. "Sorry, continue." Beca sighed as she squeezed Chloe's hand in comfort. "Mother is the creator of all vampires, basically she's the queen all of the vampires. Which brings me to my main point. The reason why I've been so distant the last couple of days is because I've been helping mother's daughter." Chloe gasped as she finally figured out who that blonde woman Beca was with in that abandoned building. "Was that the blonde woman you were with?" Beca looked at her confusedly. "What? How did you know that?" Beca was very careful at hiding where she was going, how did Chloe follow her without Beca smelling her. Chloe has a very particular smell, Beca would have smiled her right away, even if Chloe was a few feet away from her. "Did you follow me?" Beca asked her
as she immediately let go of Chloe's hand. Chloe frowned at that and nodded guiltily. "Yes, I'm sorry Beca, but I just needed to know you were safe." Beca huffed as she rubbed her head in frustration. "Chloe I told you it's not safe to follow me, especially if you're alone." Chloe shrugged her shoulders. "Well I wasn't alone, Aubrey was with me." Beca groaned even louder, no wonder she couldn't smell her. "Chloe! Aubrey doesn't know that vampires even exist, why would you bring her that close to danger like that?!" Chloe stood up in anger, remembering why she even came here upset in the first place. "You wanna know why I did Beca?! Because you're disappearing to be with a vampire princess for goodness sake! Do you even know how ridiculous I feel even saying that? Just because you're a vampire Beca, doesn't mean that I don't care about you being safe. Also you've been lying to me! Telling me that you're helping Jesse when in reality you're off doing god knows what with that blonde bimbo!" Beca bit her lip in shame, she's been making Chloe worry about her which isn't fair. Sure she lied but that was only once so Chloe wouldn't worry where she was going to be. "I know I lied to you and I'm sorry, but I didn't want you to worry about me. Also I don't have a choice but to help Zara, if I don't then I'll never be away from my sire. Mother promised me that if I help Zara reign in Boston again then she will help me get rid of him forever." Chloe calmed down at that information. "What do you mean?" Beca sighed as she looked up at Chloe. "If I do this for mother then I can finally be free of all of this. They will not bother me anymore, that means I don't have to deal with another one of my kind again. I'm sorry Chloe but I have to do this to finally be free of that life." Chloe nodded as she sat back down next to Beca. "I'm sorry too, I didn't mean to be so overprotective like that it's just...I can't help it when it comes to you." Beca smiled softly at her as she brought Chloe's face to look into her beautiful eyes once more. "I don't mind you being overprotective, because believe me if anything ever happened to you I wouldn't hesitate to rip someones heart out of their chest." Chloe chuckled as Beca grabbed her hand again. "Which is exactly why you shouldn't be following me. My sire is named Luke, and if he ever found out about you...he wouldn't hesitate to kill you. Please Chloe, I know this can't be easy for you but, I will be careful. I promise no more lies from here on out." Chloe nodded hesitantly but agreed nonetheless. "Okay, just don't make me wait hours on end for a simple text message telling me that you're okay." Beca nodded as she leaned in to kiss Chloe's lips softly. "I won't."

"So I'm assuming you guys kissed and made up?" Jesse said with a teasing smirk, looking at a blushing Chloe and Beca. "If you must know yes we did." Beca said with a smile at Chloe and quickly pecked her cheek. "So...you told her, about everything?" Jesse asked her nervously. Beca knew why he was nervous, he thought she told Chloe about him, which she wouldn't do without his permission. "Almost everything, if you want you can tell her yourself." Chloe looked at Beca confusedly. "Tell me what?" Chloe looked back at Jesse curiously. Jesse sighed as he wringed his hands together nervously. "Well um-I'm assuming she told you about her being Edward from twilight so-" Beca glared at him as Chloe chuckled. "Well I'm kind of like Jacob, except way more handsome and I've got way more abs than he does." Beca scoffed as she greatly disagreed with that statement. "I would beg to differ-" "wait so you're a werewolf?! Cool." Jesse breathed a sigh of relief as he expected her to freak out, but I guess her being with Beca his situation seemed a lot less worth. Sure he turned into a mindless monster every full moon, but it wasn't like he couldn't control himself around humans like Beca tried too. "I mean sure I break my bones every full moon but-" Beca laughed as she pulled an excited Chloe into her side. "And you smell like a wet dog twenty four seven." Jesse pouted at that while Chloe kept giggling. "Well Jesse this chat was fun but me and Chloe have to get going." Chloe looked at Beca confusedly. "We do?" Beca nodded with a smile as she pulled Chloe slowly to the front door. "Yes we do, I want to take my beautiful girlfriend on a date." Chloe squealed as they both headed out while a chuckling Jesse turned the television on to begin his nightly routine. "So a date huh?" Beca nodded as she ushered Chloe into her car. Beca started her car and drove to the destination she had in mind. "I know it seems out of character for me, but I'll have you know I'm a very romantic person when I try to be Beale." Beca told her teasingly as she reached over her car's console and intertwined their hands together. Chloe chuckled as she smiled at Beca's clinginess all of a sudden. "I never doubted your romantic side Mitchell, also why are you so clingy all of a sudden?" Beca chuckled as she glanced over at Chloe. "Maybe I'm just happy to finally be able to call you my girlfriend." Chloe smiled brightly at that as they drove a couple of more minutes before stopping at a restaurant. Beca swiftly got out and opened Chloe's door for her. Chloe blushed at Beca's romantic gesture. "Thank you." Beca smiled sweetly at her as she gestured her arm out for Chloe to entangle hers with. "Shall we?" Chloe nodded as they entered the building together. "Oh wow Beca this place is beautiful, how did you find this place?"

Beca shrugged as they sat down by themselves, at a far end table. "Well I used to come here a lot, when I wanted to feel a bit more human." Beca said with a sad smile as she reached over and clasped Chloe's hand in hers. "I think I stopped coming here was because I met you. You make me feel human again Chloe, I don't know how...you just do, and I want to thank you for that." Chloe stopped breathing all together at the way Beca was looking at her. Like she was the only one in the world she needed to look at right now. "You don't have to thank me Beca." Beca shook her head as she leaned over the table closer to Chloe. "No I do, I do Chloe. I've hurt you...not physically obviously but emotionally. You worry about me all the time, and sometimes I think I shouldn't have told you about what I truly am. But then I remember you accepted me without hesitation. How your eyes never dimmed after I told you about the monster I was. You see me for me Chloe Beale...and I see you for you." Chloe eyes teared up at Beca's omission as she immediately leaned forward to kiss Beca soundly on her lips. "I think I'm in love with you Beca Mitchell." Chloe whispered onto Beca's lips, making Beca look up at her with a soft smile of her own. "You know what? I think I'm in love with you too Red." Chloe giggled as they both leaned back in their chairs and ordered their meals for the night, never letting go of each other's hands even for just a second.

After their date Beca took Chloe home after a round of them making out in her car in front of Chloe's dorm building for a few minutes. "Ok I really have to go now Becs." Chloe said as she moaned as Beca kissed her jaw down to her neck. "Are you sure about that Beale?" Beca asked smirking as she sucked on Chloe's neck, making Chloe moan but she bit her lip to suppress it. "God I really wish I could but Aubrey and I have to get up tomorrow morning. Not all of us have a day off unlike some people." Chloe gently pushed Beca away from her as Beca groaned with a nod. "Fine but I'm gonna treat you to a nice lunch tomorrow, how does a cafeteria sandwich sound?" Chloe chuckled as she leaned in to kiss Beca one more time before she backed away. "It sounds perfect." Beca smiled at her charmingly as Chloe told her goodbye and walked to her dorm building. Beca waited until she saw Chloe make it inside her building before starting her car up again. Unbeknownst to Beca as she pulled off there was someone standing a few feet away, watching as she pulled away. "You're letting her drive away?" Cheryl asked Luke in confusion. Luke just stood there with a smirk on his face. "I have something else in mind Cheryl. I'm sure Beca will gladly come to meet me once I take her favorite play toy away. Now let's get started shall we?" Luke asked Cheryl as she gestured his arm out to her to take. She gladly took it with a sadistic smile as they headed off to Chloe's dorm building together.
