"(Y/n) the boss wants to see you." I look up to see my friend and colleague Chuuya Nakahara.
"Oh hi, Chuuya haven't seen you in a while the boss keeping you busy with jobs?" I ask absentmindedly trying to beat the level. "Nice to see your still obsessed with those games of yours." I roll my eyes as he sits down on the plush couch and pulling out a flask. "Aren't you going to see what he wants?" He questions as I concentrate on my game. "Yeah yeah just let me finish this level." I hear him sigh setting down his flask before my game is stolen from me. "Hey give that back!" I sit up trying to reach the device being held just above my head. "You can have it back after you see the boss." He replies putting my device into his coat pocket before sipping at his drink again. "Fine." I puff of my cheeks in anger and head towards the boss's office slamming the door slightly on the way out. "Stupid Chuuya taking my game, what's his problem." I huff as I draw closer to the dimly lit hallway. As I drew closer to the looming doors I start to feel a little nervous. "Oh god, what if he's mad that I kept him waiting I'm too young to die." I wail slightly before composing myself. "No he shouldn't be too mad I'll just tell him its an accident." As I reached for the handle the door was yanked open by the boss himself. "There you are miss (Y/n) I was starting to think you'd never come." He smiles while his eyes remain closed. 'Oh crap, he's so mad what am I going to do?' I start to panic as my anxiety from before rushed back full force. I'm not ready to die yet oh god I'm too young to die. As I cry over the thought of a painful death I fail to notice the doors had opened to reveal my very pissed boss. "Oh miss (L/n) nice that you finally joined us." He smiles ominously while I frantically jump up brushing any dust that may have accumulated on my coat. "I'm sorry boss but there was an urgent thing I had to attend to, you see-" "Miss (L/n) please just sit down." He sighs with a defeated look on his face as I sit in the chair in front of his desk. "Miss (L/n) I asked you here to inform you of your new partner." He pulls out a heavy pile of paper throwing it onto the desk. "These are the files on your new partner, he'll be living with you and he needs to be with you at all times." The boss says with a deadly serious tone as I flick through the files. "Your dismissed report to the underground facilities to meet him." Mori says with a dismissive flick of his hand before resuming cooing over Elise.

As I head back down the dimly lit hallway I flick through the papers given to me a few moments ago. "So my new partners a kid huh this will be fun." I smirk as I grow closer to the elevator to the underground facilities. "ID required." The mechanical voice said as I held my card up to the scanner. "Welcome to the underground facilities Executive (Y/n) (L/n)." The voice says as I put the card back into the inside pocket of my jacket. The ride down to the underground was brief as I exit the elevator where I am met by two guards by steel metal doors. "Miss (L/n) we were informed of your arrival and have prepared the kid to leave." They said as I merely nodded. As I was waiting I flicked through the messages on my phone."Hey kid get moving don't make your new partner wait." One of the guards says as he pushes a small child towards me. The kid glares at him before smiling brightly at me holding out his hand for me to shake. "I'm Q also known as Yumeno Kyusaku its nice to meet you." I smile reaching out for his hand before the guard grabs at my wrist. "Miss (Y/n) don't let this kid touch you." He warns grabbing his hand to show a small blade points towards his palm. I can simply look at the blade in shock before doubling over in laughter. "Oh my god you tried to use your ability on me, I can't believe I nearly fell for that." I laugh clutching my stomach while the guard looks at me strangely before taking the blade from Yumeno. As I try to calm myself down my phone vibrates in my pocket, I pull it out wiping tears from my eyes before scanning over the text. "Okay thanks for your help I'm going to take Yumeno now and get my device from Chuuya." I grab Yumeno's bags before heading over to the elevator and pressing the button for the top floor. "You looking forward to seeing the new flat the boss is assigning us?" I ask with a smile as I glance over to see Yumeno who is oddly silent. "Oh yeah I guess." He mutters absentmindedly clutching his doll. The rest of the ride was in silence and when the doors finally opened I practically jump out trying to escape the awkwardness. 'Where's Chuuya already I bet that jerk just left.' As I was silently fuming and cursing out Chuuya I felt a small tug on my sleeve. "Miss (Y/n) where are going?" He asks as I try not to squeal over how adorable he looks. "Well we're going to go see my friend to get back something he stole, also while we're at it you can just call me (Y/n)." He smiles at me quickly before looking away sharply, as we kept walking I feel something grab my sleeve. I look down to see Yumeno looking away with a small blush on his face, I smile to myself as I grab onto his hand carefully to which he flinches before relaxing and holding my hand. We continue the rest of the walk-in comfortable silence before coming to the door that leads to the executive's lounge. As I open the door I duck to the side to avoid the knife that narrowly missed me. "Nice to see you again Chuuya." I smile waving to which he merely scoff before sitting down. "So how was the meeting with the boss then, what did he want?" He asks taking another swig from his flask. "Chuuya it's a little early to start drinking." I jest to which I get a glare before he resumes his drink. "Okay geez, some people can't take a joke." I sweatdrop before resuming "The boss just wanted to assign me a new partner to which say hello." I drag Yumeno out from behind me as he buries his head into the doll. "Chuuya meet my new partner Yume-" As I try to introduce my new partner I am rudely interrupted by Chuuya as he throws another knife this time aimed towards Yumeno. The world slows down as I move to activate my ability causing the air to ripple and form a barrier in from of Yumeno. "Tch I know that brat shouldn't even be alive if I had my way." Chuuya glares menacingly at Yumeno who can simply stare at the knife being help inches from his face. "Chuuya what wrong with you, why would you throw a knife at a child!?" I yell marching up and grabbing Chuuya by his collar. "Look (Y/n) you don't understand this kid slaughtered so many of my subordinates, I don't want anything to happen to you!" Chuuya yells before flopping back onto the sofa. "I'll be fine Chuuya Yumeno hasn't done anything to me so far plus he's a little kid what's the worst he could do." I try to defend Yumeno casually leaving out his earlier attempt. Chuuya inhales deeply before sighing in defeat. "I doubt I could stop you or change your mind but if that kid does anything and I mean anything out of line and I'll crush him." Chuuya threatens glaring at Yumeno who is still rather shaken up by the whole ordeal. "Well it won't come to that point but thanks anyway." I say trying to get back onto Chuuya's good side. "Anyway come along Yumeno let go check out our new apartment." I drag Yumeno away afraid to leave him alone in a room with Chuuya. "Sorry about Chuuya though he's usually a lot more relaxed."
