Character: Dazai Osamu

"Thanks for coming, have a good day." I smile handing the receipt to the man before walking back to the kitchen pushing the swinging door open sighing as I pull out my pad ripping the last few sheets of paper off placing them on the metal bench. "Hey chef we have some more orders." I sigh leaning against the fridge as the older man turns around gruffly looking at the paper before turning back to the stove blazing in front of him. Resting my eyes for a moment I take in the heavy fragrances in the kitchen before a loud ding rings out as the chef finished plating up the last few dishes. Placing them on my tray I walk towards the door pushing it as I walk into the restaurant floor walking towards the couple in the back. Suddenly my vision blacks momentarily before showing a random street full of strangers with the owner glancing around in confusion. Rapidly my vision returns to normal as the ground comes rushing towards me, the sound of shattering ringing loudly causing the restaurant to fall silent as I sit in there with the food splattered all over my white blouse.

Cursing internally I shakily start picking up the ceramic fragments ignoring the stinging of my palms as I gather the shards as another waiter comes over with a brush starting to clean away the rest of the food. Walking towards the bins I look down as some customers snicker in the background, flushing brightly I all but throw the shards into the bin making my way briskly towards my locker in the back room pulling out a plastic bag and a spare uniform. Walking into the bathroom I splash some water on my face as the door opens another waitress entering. "Hey are you okay (Y/n)?" I turn to see a familiar blonde holding a towel out to me concern written on her face. Taking the towel wordlessly I wipe the moisture from my face walking towards one of the stalls taking the change of clothes with me, as I strip silently I redress hastily shoving the messy clothes into the bag before emerging from the stall. "What happened, you seemed fine one moment and the next you were just sitting there blankly." She questions as I look away not wanting to meet her eyes. "It happened again." I mutter as she shoots me a look of sympathy giving me a hug as I stared at the wall blankly. "Go home, I'll tell the boss that you're not feeling well." she says nudging me towards the door as I sigh knowing about her motherly tendencies deciding to listen to her.

As I grab my bag from the locker slamming the heavy door wincing slightly at the bang turning I trudge down the hallway towards the grey box on the wall, fishing my keys out my pocket I press the small black device to the sensor signing out for the day. Hearing the familiar beep I stroll towards my car pressing one of the buttons creating a clicking sound. Pulling on the door handle I slide into the drivers seat throwing my bag onto the passenger seat as I lean back into the plush chair tiredly. 'Just a bit longer these visions will disappear soon.' Feeling slightly relieved at the thought I reach forward turning the key feeling a familiar rumble as the car starts. As I drive through the quiet streets I glance out at the various people wandering around Yokohama before turning my attention back to the road.

Eventually I reach my apartment as I turn off the engine stepping out of my car locking it I run a hand through my hair tiredly walking up the stairs of my apartment complex. "Maybe I should see a doctor." I murmur to myself recalling the horrific visions that haunted me since the day I turned sixteen. Sighing I shake my head ignoring the previous thought. "No that'd be pointless they already said they can't do anything." Unlocking my door I can only sigh seeing a half eaten mouse lying on my carpet as I look around for the culprit seeing a familiar calico cat lounging on my sofa carefree. "Can't you at least eat it outside next time Max." I huff only getting a small meow in response as I shut the door behind me before beginning to clean up the abandoned carcass grimacing at the smell as I dump it in the bin shooting an irritated glare at my furry companion who watched from his spot on the couch.

Plopping down on the couch next to him I grab the TV remote deciding to spend the rest of the day watching a movie, scrolling through the list eventually coming to one that sounds remotely interesting. Turning the volume up I watch the characters argue over their petty issues as the movie progresses before coming to a rather unsatisfying end as the main heroine decides to fall in love with the billionaire playboy. "That was a waste of time." I huff turning to look at the clock seeing that it was almost dinner time as Max begins to meow loudly forcing me to get up to fetch a tin of cat food out from the panty placing it in his dish as he digs in. Opening my fridge I sigh seeing nothing but a stick of butter and a pint of milk before shutting it in exasperation. "I'll have to go get something from town." I huff grabbing my coat and keys turning to Max who was happily gobbling his own food up.

Making my way out of my apartment block I stroll down the pavement seeing the happy couples walking down the street holding hands as I scoff feeling slight envy at their bliss. 'I guess not everyone gets a psychotic soulmate.' I think gloomily to myself as I remember the joy my friends had when they got their first glimpse into their soulmates lives. As I rounded the corner lost in thought I fail to notice the person coming the other way sending me sprawling to the ground as I look up in mild annoyance. Suddenly my breath hitches as I stare up at the stranger in fear seeing his own chocolate coloured eyes widen as we instantly recognise each other. "S-stay away from me." I hiss standing up ignoring his shocked expression as I huff backing away from the man watching him cautiously. Chuckling he merely smirks coming closer to me ignoring my pathetic warning. "But now Belladonna how can I possibly stay away when you're my other half." He asks in a light hearted tone as I narrow my eyes as I anxiously look for a way to escape the mad man. "My name is Dazai Osamu what might you're name be beautiful?" He asks taking my hand in his own with a smile holding it tightly despite my efforts to get away. "C-Chihiro Suzuki." I stutter hoping he would fall for my lie only to earn a disappointed sigh from the eccentric male. "Darling I wish you wouldn't lie to me, you're making a terrible first impression."
"Fine if I tell you will you leave me alone?" I ask finally relenting as he nods excitedly. "My name is (Y/n) (L/n) alright now let me go." I hiss as he drops my wrist with a smile. "Of course a deal's a deal." He says before pulling out a familiar phone with a smirk as he unlocks it with no problem. "H-hey give that back." I hiss trying to snatch my phone from him to no avail as he finishes typing something before handing it back to me. "Now we can see each other again." He smiles as I flick through my phone seeing that he added himself to my contacts. "I'll be calling you soon Belladonna so don't miss me too much." he smiles waving goodbye as he disappears into the throngs of people that flocked through Yokohama leaving me standing on the side walk as I scan for him only to sigh in relief seeing him truly gone. 'It seems avoiding my soulmate won't be as easy as I thought.'
