Maternal instincts extra~

A/n: This is just the continuation of the original version of maternal instincts. 

I smile reminiscing about how I met Yumeno, it's been about a year since then and a lot has happened. From the were tiger to our ongoing war with the detective agency and the guild, which brings us to my current predicament. "Come on (Y/n) we're going to be late!" Yumeno calls as I shoot up doing the usual mad dash around the apartment as Yumeno stands to the side. "We really need to get you an alarm clock." Yumeno sighs moving to the door ready to go. After the usual rush to the office we end up in front of a very annoyed Mori. "Let me guess you slept in again." Mori sighs already pulling out a pile of papers. "Regarding yesterdays incident you will need to work some extra assignments to pay for the damages." Mori sighs handing me a thick stack of paper. "Wait what did I do!?" I yell as Mori sighs. "Need I remind you that you ran into Mojitarou yesterday causing the complete destruction of our west wing." I smile nervously as he dismisses me. "Oh yeah your new targets are two members of the guild." He explains handing me a stack of papers leaving me to leaf through them quickly scanning them. "Why not get black lizard to do it." I ask lazily chucking the pages back onto his desk. "They are highly formidable and have caused some trouble for our members lower in the organisation. " I stare at the ground trembling slightly in silence. "Are you sending anyone else?" I ask quietly not wanting to know the answer. "I'm afraid not everyone else is dealing with preparations for our next attacks." I nod picking up Yumeno and snatching the papers before heading out. 

"Hey (Y/n) are you okay?" He asks looking at me with concern in his eyes. "Yeah I'm just tired," I don't want Yumeno worrying on my behalf we have a job to focus on. "Hey how about we go back to your favourite restaurant?" I suggest as he looks at me obviously not believing me but playing along anyway. "Alright that sounds nice." He says smiling brightly at me as we continue down the bustling streets of Yokohama. 

After getting to our usual booth and ordering I continue to look at the papers in more depth, already creating a strategy in my head. "Hey (Y/n) want some?" Yumeno asks holding a fork to my face with a concerned look. "Not right now Yumeno I'm busy." I brush him off resuming my planning. 

Yumeno's POV

"Not right now Yumeno I'm busy." (Y/n) says before flicking back through her papers. 'That's unusual (Y/n) seems upset, it has to be because of those jerks from the guild.' After paying for the meal we stroll through the crowded street, after a while (Y/n) gets a call from Mori leaving to a quieter area. I glance around not sure what to do until I spot two familiar faces, the targets that (Y/n) is worried about. I glance over to see that (Y/n) is still on the phone oblivious of the targets. I slip away already formulating a plan in my head. 'If they are gone then (Y/n) won't have to worry anymore.' 

(Y/n)'s POV

"Stupid guild, stupid agency." I curse internally angrily barging through the street, my phone sounds as I sigh seeing Mori's name again. "Mori we just talked they can't have made a move that fast." I complain "Go to southern park entrance we have a situation the guild is conflicting with the agency!" Mori yells as I begin to sprint towards the location. "Understood boss." I hang up looking around frantically for Yumeno, after a good 5 minutes of searching I give up hoping that he'll be okay. 'He's a strong kid he'll be fine.' I reason heading towards the park searching for Ozaki. I get to the middle before seeing her lying in a pool of her own blood with the agency members scattered around, they all seemed to be alive from what I could see. I look up searching for the targets only to be met with more than originally anticipated. Before I can act something red dashes towards me cutting me deeply all over, I collapse trying to look at my assailants face as my consciousness begins to fade. 'Please be safe Yumeno.' Before I pass out I hear a loud shout and turn to see Yumeno being held by the original targets sobbing loudly. 

"Wake up." a voice says loudly causing me to stir, as my sight begins to clear I am met with the sight of a hospital room. I look around frantically for the source of the voice only to be met with a familiar face. "Hello (Y/n)-chan." Dazai chirps cheerfully and I can only glare in response. "What are you doing here?" I spit trying to get up only to be held down by some restraints. "What the hell Dazai!" I yell struggling violently as he can only smile down at me "Now (Y/n) you should calm down we don't want you to hurt yourself." He says as I calm down my glare intensifying. "Cut the crap Dazai we both know you're here to do more than just catch up." I feel around trying to find the knife Chuuya gifted me only to be met with nothing. "Looking for this?" Dazai smiles holding the knife just out of my grasp. "You're right though, if you must know then you're being held here in case the Port Mafia tries anything." Dazai informs me with a serious note in his voice. Suddenly I remember Yumeno and start thrashing around trying to get out of my bounds. "Let me go Dazai I need to save Yume-!" I yell only to receive a glare from him. "I asked you to calm down." He says reaching for a needle filled with some clear liquid, I scream leaving him a little disorientated. "Wind of time!" I yell taking the opportunity to erode the binds snapping them easily. Dazai recovers lunging at me as I panic looking for a way to escape, I spot a window and dive out it seconds away from Dazai catching me. 

I hear a shout of surprise as I sprint past the stunned onlookers, eventually reaching a log cabin hidden deep in the forest. I draw my leg back before smashing the door in causing it to go flying. "Wait who are you!?" A blond man yells in shock, I recognise him as John Steinbeck a member of the guild. There were vines protruding from his neck tied to various flora, hidden underneath it all was an unconscious Yumeno. "I'll kill you!" I scream launching at myself at him only for him to dodge and cause vines to go flying towards me. I activate my ability causing the vines to disintegrate before charging towards his paralysed form. "What is this!" He yells struggling as I knock him unconscious wanting to get to Yumeno as soon as possible.  I start to pull at the vines frantically ripping them off as his eyes flutter open weakly. "(Y/n)." He calls weakly looking at me as I pull him into a hug tightly. "I-I was so scared you'd abandoned me." he wails loudly sobbing into my shoulder as I press him tightly to my chest. "I said I'd never leave you and I mean it, I promise I will stay with you no matter what. "
