Sam was happily detailing everything about Natasha, as Steve sat in his study."It's just brilliant, sir. She exactly fits" he said, "I am amazed how, she was the first girl you suggested and she exactly fit. While 28 other choices by us weren't "
"I saw her baggy eyes, the dark circles under her gorgeous eyes, and the concern for her ill mother. I knew she would fit" Steve said proudly, "When are you sending my proposal? "
Sam lowered his face and Steve didn't understand, "What?! "
"Sir, do not mind but, shouldn't you be.. Its a marriage sir" Sam said hesitantly.
Steve sighed, "I should but... I don't want to. Send the proposal, go yourself and explain the details to her, make her understand. If she shows interest, then I'll meet her"
Sam nodded and left.

Natasha was busy with house chores. It was a Sunday, but it wasn't a rest day for her as for other people. She woke up, made breakfast, helped her mother bath and dress, then fed her. Tried to console George to study and not go out, tried to help Nadia with her studies. Did all the laundry, cleaned the house, and was ironing clothes when the door bell rang.
"Natasha, some Sam Wilson from Rogers companies, is here to see you" Nadia called from upstairs.
Natasha didn't recognize the name, nor did she know of any Rogers companies. She turned the iron off, then straightening her clothes and brushing her hair, went to see the man at the door.
"Good afternoon, ma'am" he said politely, giving her a bouquet of flowers.
"Good afternoon, I am sorry, I don't recognize you" she said.
"Its okay, ma'am. We haven't met before. I need to speak to you in private, if you may join me to the cafe over there" he said, "I have an offer that would benefit you"
"An offer? What kind of offer? " Natasha was cautious.
"Don't worry ma'am. I assure you, it won't be offensive in any way" he said.
Natasha looked over her shoulder, "Nadia, I'll just be back" she said and followed Sam to the cafe.
"Introductions first" Sam said, as the took the seats, "I am Samuel Wilson, general manager of Rogers companies and assistant to Mr. Steve Rogers"
Natasha nodded, "What do you want from me? "
"Ma'am, please do not panic. My boss, Mr. Steve Rogers, wishes to marry you" he said.
"What? " Natasha was shocked, "Marry me? But I haven't, we haven't even met"
"He promises to take care of all your finances, send your mother to the best Alzheimer's care centre in town, send your siblings to proper foster homes or boarding schools, whatever your choice maybe, and pay all your debts. In return, you just have to marry him and enjoy the luxuries of his wife, and sign a contract that says you shall never demand separation " Sam went on to explain, paying no heed to what she asked.
"But, I.. Why me? Look, I just don't understand " she said, "I don't know a thing about him, its a lifetime decision, sure what he is offering is a dream come true for me but"
"Ma'am, here is all what you may need to know" he handed her a flash drive, "If you think you can agree, send me a message and I can arrange for a meeting with him. To add to the details, he drinks occasionally, doesn't smoke, isn't much interested in dating or anything if that sorts. He just needs a wife, to safeguard his heritage. You fit our criteria. Hope you understand and agree " he stood up, "let me escort you back to your house"
Natasha thanked him, and then walked straight to her room, Nadia didn't care enough to ask what was going on.
She turned her old desktop computer on and attached the flash drive. The first thing that caught her eye was Steve's picture. She clicked on it and zoomed in to his face.
Obviously, with a tall and muscular physique, a handsome jaw, and innocence in his face, he instantly got her attention. But that photograph had his eyes covered so she went to the other, his blue eyes sparkled in that and she liked his appearance for sure.
The next hour, she went through all the documents, that described all of his history and some stuff about his nature. In the end was a letter to her.
Natasha,
I am sure Sam has briefed you well about all if this, but I needed to have a personal word with you.
I need a wife, I promise nothing is there that would harm you. It would be very much a real marriage. I don't have any girlfriends, never had them, you don't have to worry about that. You would be my wife exactly how it should be. You would be free to achieve your dreams and whatever it may be, only you shall never demand separation from me. I can't promise you love, I don't know anything about it, but I can promise luxuries of all sorts. Your family would be well taken care of as well.
Take your time, I hope I wouldn't be searching for another.Steve
P. S Your are the 29th candidate and the first one that I personally added to the list of scrutiny. If that helps.
Natasha didn't know what to think of this, but whatever he offered was definitely worth it. He wasn't asking her to pole dance or anything of that sort. He wanted a wife. And if anything did go wrong, she could always take help from law. He seemed like a respectable person with all that she read about him. She googled about him next, and only found positive things, with only a few articles on his anger issues, which she didn't mind, because, who didn't get angry?
She sure was tired of taking care of her family, with not even love for her in return. Her mother didn't even know her anymore. And she would definitely get better care in those specialized centers, which Natasha could never afford.
And Nadia and George definitely need foster homes. Because Natasha could never be their parent. They were wasted with her. With all the loans and burdens, Natasha knew she might get sick working so hard everyday.
This was a golden opportunity, and the Lord was definitely merciful and done testing her. He was rewarding her. And she decided to take the reward and be thankful.
*******
Natasha is going to agree.
Steve and Nat to marry soon.
