Tearful eyes,
Over joyed smile,
Frail yet, excited face,
Was she,
On the last day of her chemotheraphy.

The past couples of years
Felt sickening and painful.
Because of her supportive parents,
She felt blessed and hopeful.

First a lump on her breast,
That was diagnosed late.
Then followed the process of
Shaving her pride,
Her cascading brown hair.
Finally, the heartbreaking
Operation to remove one of her breasts
To keep her alive!

She felt empty.
She felt insecure.
Her heart was confused,
About her partial womanhood.
Because she felt, she wasn't one of us...

She didn't realize that,
She battled life like a woman!
She survived through the storm like a woman!
She fought for her living like a woman!
She was just a superwoman!
Who didn't need to feel insecure.
Because her brave struggle for survival,
Was the true essence of womanhood!
