I had been in the hospital the entire day with Draco. As soon as we had arrived, he fell asleep. Professor Pomfrey had him in a cast and resting. I believed Lucius was going to come up to the school. I knew I was going to be punished for jeopardizing his sons life. I felt extremely guilty. I sat in the chair besides his bed with my head in my hands and sighed. I had already talked to Lucius and he didn't seem to eager about the situation.
"So, I guess I won the bet."
My head snapped to see a confidant Draco smirking at me from besides me. At least he wasn't mad at me. He looked at his arm and sighed before looking back up at me.
"I'm not mad at you, I wanted to do anything I could to gain your forgiveness. And I hoped I did." He smiled gently. His eyes widened then looked around the room to make sure nobody heard what he had just said.
"I forgive you, Draco. But let's go. Professor Pomfrey said you could leave when you wake up. And I'm hungry." I smiled grabbing his good hand and helping him out of the bed. We walked all the way to the Great Hall and sat at the Slytherin table. I just ate some popcorn, while he ate an actual meal. Which is what I probably should have done.
"Bella, here do you want this?" Pansy smiled offering me the a copy of the Daily Prophet as she sat down next to Draco and swaddled him. I knew she just wanted me to leave Draco to her, but I actually did wanna read it. You were always secluded in Hogwarts. You never knew what was going on in the outside world.
"Does it hurt, Draco?" Pansy asked in admiration.
"It comes and it goes. Still I consider myself lucky. Madam Pomfrey said a minute later and I could have lost my arm. I can't do my homework for weeks." Draco stated dramatically I rolled my eyes as I opened up the paper. My eyes widened as I read the heading of the article. Before I could say anything Seamus came running in the Great Hall screaming.
"He's been sighted!"
"Who?" Hermione asked in confusion.
"Sirius Black."
My eyes immediately connected to Draco's. We both were thinking the same thing. He was coming, and who knew for who. I stood up and looked at the group of Gryffindors who stood surrounded around a newspaper talking about Sirius Black. I then looked at Draco asking for his approval, once he nodded at me I pretty much ran to the Gryffindor table.
"That's not far from here." Hermione gasped.
"Where?" I asked entering the group smiling. All heads shot to me, they all looked at me suspiciously. Probably because I had been avoiding them all year. Until Neville pulled me in the group.
"Dufftown." Ron stated anxiously.
"You don't think he'd come to Hogwarts, do you?" Neville asked with fear.
"With dementors at every entrance?" I stated reassuringly mostly to myself.
"Dementors. He's already slipped past them once. Who's to say he won't do it again?" Seamus corrected.
"He's right. Black could be anywhere. It's like trying to catch smoke. Like trying to catch smoke with your bare hands." A boy named Dean agreed.
Soon our whole little group had to disperse for class. My next class was defense against the dark arts with the new teacher. Professor Lupin. He had us all stand in a clump facing a wardrobe made out of mirrors. Harry stood besides me, I actually talked to him for the first time and didn't feel scared or awkward. That was until the wardrobe began to shake, causing us all to freeze.
