The next day I sat on the train to Hogwarts with Draco, Goyle, Crabbe, and a boy named Blaise that also was friends with Draco. I never really saw Blaise as much as I did the other boys. I sat next to Draco. He wore his usual all black suit attire. I wore a black spaghetti strapped short dress that stopped a little below the thigh. The entire back was open, but stopped a little along my waist. There were a few straps that crossed on the back. A elderly woman walked up and down the aisles of the train screaming about her candy. It was starting to grow annoying. I knew she was just doing her job, but still. When she got to our cart she turned to us and smiled.
"Anything from the trolley?"
"No, but what I do want is for you to shut the hell up. I could hear you from the back of the train. Lordy, just retire already before you die." I hissed standing up and slamming the sliding glass door closed. I felt extremely guilty, I wanted to cry.
"Wow Bella, what happened to you?" Goyle asked in admiration. I rolled my eyes and turned away from him. When we arrived at the school I still stayed with Draco. It's not like I had any other friends to talk to. As we were walking into the entrance I looked up to see giant horses with wings flying towards us, Pegasus'. On each one a person rode, the horses had a huge carriage attached to back of them. All of the students gushed in amazement as they watched the beautiful creatures sore through the sky.
"Bella, look." Draco pointed staring at a boat that slowly began to rise out of the ocean that sat near the school. I was beyond confused as to why certain people were arriving to our school. We all walked inside and watched as the first-years got sorted into their houses. I noticed that Dumbledore didn't look at me once. Dumbledore walked up to his podium and prepared to give his classic beginning of the year speech.
"Well, now we're all settled of sorted. I'd like to make an announcement. This castle will not only be your home this year, but home to some very special guest as well." He began. Suddenly the doors to the Great Hall busted open and Filch ran in heading towards Dumbledore.
"You see, Hogwarts has been chosen-" Dumbledore was cut off by Filch whispering in his ear. Once he mumbled something to Filch, he continued his speech.
"So, Hogwarts has been chosen to host a legendary event: The Triwizard Tournament. For those of you who do not know the Triwizard Tournament brings together three schools for a series of magical contest. From each school, a single student is selected to compete. Now let me be clear, if chosen you stand alone. And trust me when I say these contest are not for the faint-hearted. But more of that lager. For now, please join me in welcoming the lovely ladies of the Beauxbatons Academy of Magic. And their headmistress, Madame Maxine." Dumbledore cheered as the doors burst open again. In walked a large group of girls all wearing a silk blue uniform dresses, with a matching little hat. They all walked in the same rhythm. A soft angelic melody played, I had no idea where it was coming from. They sighed and dropped their hands to the side all at the same time.
"Glad I don't go to that school." I whispered in Draco's ear in distaste. They all were too cheerful and girly. I will admit, I could be girly. But not dreamily sigh in the middle of a lunch room girly. They all fluttered around the room, almost like butterflies. They were very beautifully elegant. When they got to the front a hundred little butterflies flew out of their sleeves and around the room before disappearing into blue sparkles. In walked a ginormously tall woman, taller then Hagrid. She had short hair and didn't seem as beautiful as her students.
"Hey, I found you a girlfriend." I snickered into Draco's ear.
"Shut up." He laughed elbowing me in the side.
"And now, our friends from the north. Please greet the Proud sons of Durmstrang. And their high Master, Igor Karkaroff." Dumbledore cheered.
The soft music immediately changed to loud and warrior like. Strong boys with walking sticks entered the room. They would bang their sticks on the ground and create wild sparks of fire. They would have a rhythm as well. After they would bang their sticks a few times they would grunt. They spun them, and flipped them all at the same time it was very impressive. I watched as they marched to the front. My attention then turned to a blonde boy who was doing amazingly well. He looked up at me and smirked. I smiled at him, causing him to wink, I could feel Draco looking between the two of us.
Suddenly the blonde boy laid his stick on the ground and ran to the front in a full sprint along with the rest of the boys from his school. He did three flips and moved to the side. I smiled, I was beyond impressed.
"What a show off." Draco sneered from besides me. The High Master then walked in with none other then Victor Krum. I didn't even know he was still in school. One of the boys blew on a fire stick at the front creating a dragon made out of fire. The high Master and Dumbledore hugged each other in greetings. I watched as a few men dragged in a ginormous statue like object. Dumbledore walked up to it.
"Your attention, please!" He called out causing all of the students to grow silent.
"I'd like to say a few words! Eternal Glory, that is what awaits the student who wins the Triwizard Tournament. But to do this the student must survive three tasks. Three extremely dangerous tasks. For this reason the ministry has seen fit to impose a new role. To explain all of this we have the head of the Department of International Magical Cooperation. Mr. Bartemius Crouch." Professor Dumbledore stated pointing to a wizard who entered the room from the far side. The wizard began to move up to the front of the room. But a strike of lightning from the ceiling had everyone screaming. A blast from the side of the room aiming at the ceiling, causing it to turn back to normal.
My eyes widened as I realized who it was. It was the Mad-Eyed Moody. He was the one of the best Dark Wizard catchers. He was one of the aurors responsible for capturing my parents. He had longer dirty tan hair. He had a missing eye, however he used a fake one that moved around kinda creepily. He walked up and shook Dumbledore's hand as the two greeted each other. I watched as he turned away and downed a gulp of liquor.
"After due consideration the Ministry has conducted that for their own safety no student under the age of seventeen shall be allowed to put forth their name in the Triwizard Tournament. This decision is final." Mr. Crouch stated as if he didn't want to be here. The students began to complain and yell at him. They screamed harsh and rude comments. And it wasn't even the Slytherins.
"Silence!" Dumbledore ordered harshly quieting the entire school. I watched as Dumbledore raised his wand and pointed it to the large golden statue that stood besides him. The gold began to melt away until it revealed a old clay goblet. A light blue fire ignited from the goblet, it reminded me of my fire that I had created last year.
"The Goblet of Fire. Anyone wishing to submit themselves to the tournament need only write their name upon a piece of parchment. And throw it in the flame before this hour on Thursday night. Do not do so lightly. If chosen there's no turning back. As from this moment the Triwizard Tournament begins."
