When Draco and I returned back to school after break. I made it my duty to find Dumbledore. After unpacking, I carefully made my way up to his office. I followed the phoenix statue and stairs that led to his office. When I walked in, he stood staring at his pet Phoenix.
"Aw, Isabella. Just the girl I was wishing to speak to." Dumbledore smiled up at me.
"Draco Malfoy has been assigned to sneak Death Eaters into the castle and kill you." I informed getting right to the point. Dumbledore looked at me for a second before moving to his desk and sitting in his chair.
"I see." He stated thinking as he ran his fingers through his beard.
"Are you not concerned, Professor." I asked in shock. If someone was planning to harm me I would like to know.
"I had my suspicions about the boy. Is that all?" Dumbledore asked looking at me.
"They haven't informed me of my role in this, but my mother took me with her when she destroyed the Weasley house." I stated.
"I see. But is there any other things concerning you?" Dumbledore asked almost staring into my soul. I shook my head signaling no.
"Isabella, I need you to take this." Dumbledore ordered handing me a tiny vile. I gladly accepted it and looked the tiny glass over.
"Sir, what is this?" I asked in confusion.
"When you believe you have witnessed all that is possible. I wish for you to drop a single tear into this vile. It is crucial that it is then given to Harry Potter." Dumbledore explained as I placed the vile in my pocket.
"Isabella, remember. If something is too difficult or stressful all you have to do if make myself aware." He sighed.
"Thank you, Professor." I smiled gently before walking out of the room. After that night, I placed the vile on a necklace chain and wore it everyday. I made sure to hide it and keep it out of site.
A few weeks later and nothing important had happened. I was currently walking with Draco through the halls. He was as quiet as ever, this seemed to be his usual lately. I missed my old Draco, the one who would make the sharp remarks and joke about everything. The one who loved Quidditch and spending time with me. This was just a lifeless version of Draco. Then again, I wasn't the same girl. I had grown just as sad and quiet as him. As Draco focused solemnly on his one mission, I focused on how I could help the entire world. Shockingly, Draco had managed to keep my secret safe. I was thankful for this, I owed him my life.
He walked up to one of the cages where the birds had always welcomed with kind chirps. He opened it and grabbed a single pigeon. We both closed our eyes and vanished into the Room of Requirements as we had done multiple times. He handed me the bird, I had no idea what we were doing with it. He walked up and yanked the drape off of the vanishing cabinet. He took the bird from my hands and placed it in the vanishing cabinet. He shut the door slowly and waited.
"If it dies I'm going to start crying." I stated emotionless trying to lighten the mood.
"If it does I'll be a failure." Draco responded ruining my joke. Once the birds chirping stopped Draco opened the door to the cabinet to reveal no bird in sight. Draco shut the door again and waited a few seconds. He slowly opened the door to reveal the bird, but this time it was dead. I looked from the bird to Draco to see him looking down at it with slight fear. Draco turned around and walked to the corner of the room and began to cry. I walked towards him and sat down besides him as he placed his face in his hands.
