I had been healed by Madam Pomfrey and I was heading to Dumbledore's office to tell him of what had happened. It would be the right thing to do. I wanted to give him the stone, what use did I have of it? I had it in my pocket and was feeling it around. I had made it to his doors. I took a deep breath before knocking.
"Come in." His old voice called out. I sighed before opening the door. I gasped at the size of his office it was grand! Every wall was a bookshelf, with two flights of stairs leading up to something I couldn't quite see. His desk was large as well. He sat their doing work, until he looked up and smiled at me.
"Bella, what a surprise." He welcomed, he ushered me over to him. I didn't sit, I simply pulled the stone out of my pocket and sat it on his desk. He frowned then looked up at me.
"Now how did you come across this?" He asked in amazement. I told him everything I could without revealing too much of my secrets. I told him about Quirrell and Voldemort and Harry. He stayed quiet and listened the entire time.
"And why have you come to me? Any other Slytherin would have kept the stone for themselves." He asked raising his eyebrow. He did have my stumped.
"I-I don't know. I guess I just wanted to do the right thing." I explained honestly looking up to his eyes. Dumbledore leaned back in his chair and brought his hand up to his beard to stroke it.
"I am very proud of you, Bella. I realize that you are not like most Slytherins. And I want you to know, you don't have to prove yourself to anyone who doesn't deserve you." Dumbledore explained wisely sitting forward slightly.
"What do you mean?" I asked squinting my eyebrows.
"I mean, I think those who you wish to impress don't deserve you in their lives." Dumbledore laughed my heart rate began to quicken, did he know something?
"Like who?" I asked tilting my head.
"I think we both know who." Dumbledore answered leaning forward to whisper as if there was someone else in the room. My eyes nearly bulged, how did he know?
"And I want to make sure you're aware. This is a safe place, you can trust us with anything. You may even be surprised with what we already know." He winked gesturing to what I already knew that he knew.
"Thank you, Professor." I smiled preparing to leave.
"Wait, Bella. I may have a few jobs for you in the future. Don't forget my advice." Dumbledore stated before I exited the office. I sighed and made my way back to my dorm.
"Wow, look who decided to finally pop in and say bye before we leave?" Pansy mocked from across the room. I rolled my eyes and walked up to her.
"I'll see you next year, Pansy. " I sighed embracing her in a tightening hug. She stiffened and cautiously hugged me back as well.
"You will write to me, right?" She asked. I nodded my head and watched as she waved one last time before leaving with all her belongings. I looked over towards my stuff to see all my bags packed as well and Phantom waiting impatiently.
"Isabella! Let's go!" Draco called out from the common room. I rolled my eyes and walked out towards him with Phantom following behind me. I knew my bags would arrive at the house shortly so I left them walking besides Draco.
"So how did your first year go?" I asked as I walked besides Draco.
"It was horrendous! The students are miserable and the staff is a joke! I hate this place!" Draco spat in disgust. I knew he was lying.
"Yeah, I can't wait for next year either."
