"You gotta be kidding me," Y/N groaned, wiping at her forehead with her black gloves. "Dammit Matty." She sighed and set the homemade wrench on the table beside her. She had spent the last few hours welding and twisting random parts together to make something that would fit the stupid bolt on the carburetor. She had trusted Matty with the measurements of the bolt, and as she had finally put the wrench to it, she saw it was too big.

Matty had left about an hour after Zayn, who was either talking with Lauren, or still driving around the city looking for her. Y/N hadn't realized how long she had been working until she noticed the sky outside of the garage door had turned a dark blue.

She made her way over to the opening and looked out, thankful for the cool breeze that blew through, making the small beads of sweat on her forehead feel cool. She took a deep breath and smiled, thinking over everything that had happened between her and Camila.

What she had told Zayn earlier was true. Y/N had always taken her relationships to the next level way too soon, but with Camila, she wanted to take it as slow as possible and savor every little moment. She loved the way Camila made her heart flutter and her lips pull against her teeth inevitably.

It was the middle of fall, about 5 weeks had passed since Y/N and Camila had found each other at that party. And it had been 4 months, going on 5, since she had met the Cuban, not that she was counting or anything. Y/N wondered why Camila had impacted her so much as she looked out at the white moon hanging in the sky.

"Something funny?" Y/N heard, making her look to her side where Camila stood, leaning against the side of the building. Y/N giggled and stepped towards her, wrapping her arms around Camila's neck as the smaller girl held onto her waist.

"What're you doing here?" She asked softly, playing with the fabric of Camila's hoodie. Camila pressed her lips to Y/N's cheek lightly before pulling back so she could look at the older girl.

"I was going to bring you some ice cream from the diner because Dinah had picked us up and we all went, but Zayn showed up and told me you were here," she held up a pair of keys in her hand. "Plus mom let me borrow her car so you might've been an excuse for me to drive since I just got my license."

"Oh, I'm just an excuse?" Y/N laughed while Camila nodded her head. She let go of the Cuban and started walking back into the garage. "I'd just like to know why a 17 year old doesn't have her license. Especially since you can get 'em when you're 14 now."

Y/N stumbled forward when Camila had ran and jumped on her back, wrapping her legs around her waist and clinging to her neck.

"And I'd like to know why you're already failing gym, but I'm not saying anything," Camila teased as Y/N led them over towards the car, chuckling.

"Yeah, well I'm sure if you had taken gym with Coach Pitt instead of Health like a loser, you would understand."

"Loser, huh?" Camila feigned annoyance before sucking on her finger and sticking it in Y/N's ear, laughing mischievously. "Who's the loser now?" Y/N flinched and put Camila on the ground and cowered away from her.

"That was low," Y/N said, faking a serious face as Camila bit her lip and laughed at her before turning her attention to the car and walking over to it. She ran her hands along the rusted exterior and frowned. When Zayn had picked her up, she hadn't realized the condition the car was really in.
