Dr Grey POV
It was the end of my shift but I couldn't leave. A lot of the doctors were considering that Bronte wasn't going to wake up. She suffered brain damage which is stopping her from waking up. They are also considering that even if she did wake up there is a possibility that she wouldn't be able to cope with all the changes as she would still have many surgeries ahead. But I know better. She is going to wake up and she will fight through it. I believe that she has made it this far and if she doesn't want to fight then she wouldn't have been alive when I found her.
"Tiger I need you to answer me now. Please wake up." I sat on the end of the bed and held her hand. "I need to know that you are in there because we haven't got much time anymore. I know your in there but know I need you to prove it to the others so if you here me, squeeze my hand." I paused, knowing that this isn't going to work. " Please!" I wait and know that i shouldn't push.
I stand up to walk away.
"Don't worry about it. I will see you tomorrow." As I go to walk away I feel someone squeeze my hand.
"Bronte. Please do that again. If you can hear me. Show me I am not imagining anything." And she squeezed my hand again. I see her try to flicker her eyes open. I press the call bell behind her bed as the nurse run, I told her to get Dr Robbins and any other staff on her case. I also tell her to get the parents here as fast as they can.
"Lexie." Bronte croaked out. I was surprised that one:she was able to speak but two: the first name to come out of her mouth was mine.
"Tiger don't speak okay? This maybe scary right now but all these people will be helping you."
"Where?" Bronte tried to speak again.
"You are in the hospital, I am Dr Lexie Grey. You have been in an accident. We will explain more after we check you are okay. Your moms are coming. Just don't freak out! Keep breathing Tiger! You need to just relax Bronte." I smile to myself she woke up. She is alive, this is going to be okay. Except this is going to be the start of a whole new fight.
