Beca POV

Were sat with Bronte in her room. The doctors are trying to explain to Bronte what happened but to be honest neither Chloe and I are really focusing on what she was saying. Chloe is in floods of tears and is clinging to Bronte as if she was going to float away and just staring at her. I at least am trying to look like I am listening. I flick my vision between the doctors and Bronte.
"I...I..." Bronte croaks out trying to  speak and getting frustrated.
"It's okay. Don't rush. You're doing better than most when they just woke up. Take it slow." Dr Robbins says coming around to sit on the foot of the bed.
"I... don't understand..." Bronte mumbled. Chloe squeezes Bronte's hand in encouragement but even for me the message was hard to read considering Chloe was crying herself.
"You were in an accident-"
"No... I get that... what was... the... the ... on" Bronte interrupts.
"It's probably best to talk about that more when you are more stable. Get some rest and take your time and then we will come back and explain again." Dr Robbins says getting up.
"No! Tell me now! ... I am here now... Speak like .... I am .... here." Bronte says.
"Bronte, the doctors are just saying that you probably won't remember this and that if you do you won't get it easily. They are trying to help." I explain.
"No...please just....tell...me" Bronte pleads. I look down. We all know she is going to freak out when she finds out about her leg. That's what we are scared of. That's why we aren't telling her.
"Well, your brain has had some bleeding into it which we have stopped and is under control for now, some of your internal organs where damaged pretty badly and are stable for now. And you lower leg  we had to remove just approve the knee as it was very badly damaged." Dr Robbins stops, she leaves out the part about that she is going to have a lot more surgery but I think that's for the best. We all look at Bronte who just nods and looks down. She then looks back up.
"Thank you." Bronte says.
"That's okay. Now you rest up and later we will talk about what happens next okay?" Dr Robbins says and Bronte nods in response.
"Can we just talk to your parents outside, they will be back soon." Dr Robbins asks Bronte who thinks for a minute.
"Why can't... you say it in... here... it's obviously me your talking ... about!" Bronte replies.
"Dr Grey here will stay here and talk to you about what we are saying out there. How's that?" Dr Robbins compromises and Bronte nods. Chloe and I get up and go outside.

Dr Robbins waits until we are outside with the door closed.
