~16th September~
"Did you get snacks?" Phil throws a plastic bag full of nibbles at the nagging Dan. He grins and hugs the bag to his chest.
"You're going to share those, right?" I poke his side and frown.
"Maybe..." For a moment, I get lost in his goofy smirk, but shrug it off and hit his arm. "Ow! That's not nice!"
"I want food," I whimper.
"Fine~" He gives in and let's me take my pick.
"Don't eat all of them now," Tess says from the drivers seat. Dan and I exchange looks and grin cheekily.
"We won't." Our voices sync up perfectly.
The last few days have been so amazing and it makes me sad to be leaving so soon. I've spent every minute with my friends, laughing and sharing stories. I'm really going to miss them. I should be excited to go back to my fiance, to finally begin preparations for my dream wedding and then, my new life. But instead it's what I'm dreading most about leaving. To get married is to put everything with Dan behind me once and for all. When I said 'yes', I was sure it was over, but now, after spending all this time with him... I'm not sure if I can say 'I do'.
My thought are interrupted by a pestering tap on my shoulder.
"I'm bored," Dan groans.
I giggle. "Poor you."
"Play I spy with me."
"Fine~" I mimic him from the beginning of the trip.
By the time we finally reach Brighton, my argument count between Dan had reached twelve and we had probably been told by Tess to shut up at least thirty times. Alfie and Zoe give us a quick tour of their house and take us to our rooms.
"Oh..." Zoe pauses suddenly and rubs the back of her neck. "You two sharing a bed won't be an issue, will it?" She points to Dan and I. The two of us turn to each other and shake our heads. While the others take in their bags, Zoe grabs my arm and pulls me to the side. "Are you sure it's not a problem? I can set up a separate bed if you'd like."
I smile at her reassuringly. "It's fine, Zoe. We're just friends, we both know that. It's not the first time we're sharing a bed as friends." She nods but frowns almost discreetly as she eyes the diamond ring on my finger. She looks up and meets my eyes, her cheeks turning red with embarrassment as she realises I saw.
"I'm sorry, you two were just-" Zoe's cut off by Dan walking out of our room and resting his arm on my shoulder.
"Everything okay?"
"Yeah, it's fine. And I know, Zoe."
Zoe nods sadly and makes her way down the hall. She didn't need to say anything. I had seen the same thing in the comments for my videos, I had heard it from many friends, and I admit to thinking the same thing a lot recently. 'You two were just perfect for each other.'
"What was the about?" I face Dan who's eyebrows are furrowed in confusion.
"Nothing, secret girl stuff. Let's go downstairs."
