Rewritten
Develyn, Asriel, and Frisk were walking to school. Spring has already arrived and the three experienced Spring Break. However, issues with the three were becoming more prevalent. Chara started to make more frequent appearances. Asriel would regularly wake up with vines around his body. Even Develyn would have freak nightmares about fighting Chara and Flowey and losing, in some cases.
Things turned from bad to borderline worse, as Frisk started experiencing hallucinations.
"It took us three hours to clear those vines, Asriel. Three!" Develyn exclaimed.
"I swear, I feel myself changing every day. We're all changing. Mom is starting to get concerned," Asriel answered.
"Yes, she is starting to get concerned. And Sans hasn't made that choice yet," Develyn stated.
"What choice?" Asriel asked.
"Sans promised that he would give a choice for me to fight Chara and Flowey," Develyn answered.
While Develyn and Asriel were having the conversation, Frisk started to zone out. More on Develyn in particular. She then hallucinated. Frisk saw herself being pinned to the ground by Develyn himself with a blade held to her neck. Frisk froze and the hallucination ended when blade flew across.
"Frisk?" Develyn asked. "What's wrong?"
"Nothing," Frisk answered.
"Alright. You know I'm here if you need to get something off of your chest," Develyn added.
"OK," Frisk answered, quietly.
"I think Frisk is getting the worst of it, though," Asriel stated.
"Doubt it, Az," Develyn stated.
"About the choice. In my dreams, Sans fails. What's the result in your dreams, Dev?" Frisk asked.
"90% of the time, I come out victorious. Rarely, I come out dying in the end. It's more Chara than Flowey, though. Which leaves me to believe that Flowey is weak," Develyn answered.
"So it's you fighting them, rather than Sans? Odd," Frisk explained. Frisk soon froze once more, experiencing her second hallucination of the day.
"Oh, gosh. It's happening again," Asriel stated.
"Frisk, snap out of it!" Develyn exclaimed. Frisk couldn't snap out it, however. Chara appeared once again. She then proceeded to attack Develyn, causing Develyn to defend himself. Develyn soon pushed Chara onto the asphalt below. Eventually, Frisk regained control. She immediately noticed the large road rash on her knee. She quickly ran off to the school.
"Frisk, where are you going?!" Asriel asked, but no response came afterward.
***
The school day already been awful for the three. Develyn frequently zoned out in class, causing him to forget things during the lectures. Asriel and Frisk themselves had a hard time concentrating on their exams, resulting in a less than optimal grade.
Lunch time soon came around, and the three of them wanted to go home already.
"This doesn't make any sense. Every one is calling us a bunch of weirdos and freaks," Asriel stated.
"We've had these issues for a while, Az. The only way it'll end is if Chara and Flowey reappear and either me or Sans kill them both," Develyn stated.
"You're missing the point, Dev. If you kill Chara and Flowey, you inadvertently kill me and Frisk," Asriel stated.
"Oh my, God. Thanks for reminding me. Only just now I realized, if Chara and Flowey die, you two are NEVER coming back," Develyn explained. Frisk, once again, was quiet. She then hallucinated her defeat, and Develyn encasing her SOUL inside the SOUL gem Alphys mentioned a couple weeks ago.
"Frisk? Can you hear us?" Asriel asked.
"Oh no," Develyn answered. Develyn quickly snapped his fingers, breaking Frisk's spell.
"What's going on?" Frisk muttered.
"I don't know," Asriel stated.
Develyn soon got up and left the cafeteria. "God, this is too much!!" Develyn exclaimed.
"Dev, where are you going?" Asriel asked.
Develyn soon went outside and let out a scream of fury. "This can't happen. This can't!" Develyn exclaimed. Develyn already built a healthy friendship with Frisk and Asriel. Even Asriel calls Develyn a brother, since Develyn treats him like one.
"DEV!" Asriel shouted.
"I don't wanna lose you guys. There has to be something. Flowey and Chara dying and you two being alive," Develyn explained.
"I wish there is, but I think this could be the end of us," Asriel stated.
"Stop saying crap like that!" Develyn exclaimed. "I understand it's gonna happen, but there has to be something with my power to prevent this from happening!" Develyn's emotions were somehow getting the best of him. He started to shed tears, which Asriel would notice. This was the closest to family Develyn experienced since his parents died when he was two. After that, there was seven years of abuse.
Asriel soon hugged Develyn. Develyn soon returned the favor seconds later. "I don't wanna lose you, Dev. You clearly were the best sibling I've ever had in my life. Frisk too, but you clearly take the crown," Asriel explained.
"I don't wanna lose you either," Develyn answered. "Sans, I hope you've made your mind!"
