Chapter 10: SOUL Analysis

Not only this chapter had it's title changed, but it's also being rewritten

Toriel dropped Develyn off in front of a large building. Apart from the school and the hospital, Develyn hasn't been in many large buildings.

"I told Alphys that you'll be back by lunch. Don't forget to remind her about that, OK?" Toriel explained.

"Alright," Develyn answered.

The doors were automatic. Meaning, as soon as Develyn was close by, they opened.

The building was a large laboratory. Many experiments were going on.

"Hello?" Develyn asked.

Racket ensued, with some glass object being broken. "Ah! Not again!" somebody yelled.

"Hello?" Develyn called.

"J-just a sec," somebody answered.

A few seconds later, a short yellow lizard, about the same height as Develyn, rounded the corner of a hallway.

"Are you Alphys?" Develyn asked.

"Y-yes, I am. I'm assuming you're Develyn?" Alphys answered. Develyn nodded.

"I thought you were a bit taller," Develyn added.

"Monsters vary in height once they reach adulthood, similar to animals," Alphys stated.

"Ah," Develyn stated.

"Follow me. Toriel mentioned that you're gonna be here today. Undyne mentioned me to you when we had one of our dates. From what I've heard, you are a unique individual," Alphys explained.

"Wait, you and Undyne are dating?" Develyn asked, as he wasn't use to lesbian couples at all.

"Yeah, she finally asked me out after we reached the Surface. We're like the first ever Monster lesbian couple," Alphys answered.

"I swear, the world is changing. Many people come out, saying they're homosexual, some come out saying they're trans. The world I know is changing rapidly," Develyn explained.

"Do you like the changes?" Alphys asked.

"Yeah, I know these people get backlashed for it, but it's nice to see the word "different" evolve," Develyn answered.

"I know Divinitism is the major religion around here, but Christians still exist, at small level," Alphys stated.

"Divinitism? What's that? I know Christianity, but Divinitism?" Develyn asked.

"It's the religion focusing around the Nine Divines. There are Seven Normal Gods, One Chief God, and One Human God. They are as followed: Akatosh, Arkay, Dibella, Julianos, Kynerath, Mara, Stendarr, Talos, and Zenithar. Akatosh leads the pantheon, and the major one most people worship. However, the other eight are worshiped for different reasons. Akatosh is the God of Time, Arkay is the God of Life, Dibella is the Goddess of Beauty, Julianos is the God of Wisdom and Logic, Kynerath is the God of Nature, Mara is the Goddess of Love, as well as the Mother Goddess, Stendarr has a ton of influences, but he's mostly the God of Mercy. He's also the one behind the Justice SOUL trait, as he's also the God of Justice. Talos was the only human ever documented in history to be elected into the Divines upon his death, or so it seems. Later studies revealed that Talos was actually a Human Dominant Human-Monster Hybrid. Regardless, Talos has a ton of influences, like Stendarr. But we mostly associate him as the God of War and Government. Then there's Zentihar, the God of Work and Commerce." Alphys explained.

"Interesting, I never thought that one religion would have so many Gods itself," Develyn stated.

"They weren't the first either. We've had many ancient civilizations pull this off as well. Well, all that rambling got us into this room here," Alphys stated.
