Develyn was taken aback of how big the school looked. He never set foot in a school in his life. One thing is for sure, he was nervous! With how different he is, many students might not like it and make him a target for bullying, which Develyn despises.

"You nervous?" Asriel asked.

"Very," Develyn answered.

Develyn was assigned to the fourth grade, due to how old he was (9). This would end up being a silly mistake, as he is the youngest fourth grader in the graduating class (2024). (A/N: The events of the COVID-19 pandemic caused all students to repeat a grade. Well, not everyone. Since Develyn was younger than most people in his grade, he had to repeat, since people of a certain age can join a grade with the new rules they put in place)

Things were going calm, until a loud roar was heard.

"What was that?" Asriel asked.

"What in Oblivion is that?!" one of the teachers yelled.

"Holy crap!" Asriel exclaimed he then bolted to hide behind a bush. Frisk followed.

"Stay back!" a teacher shouted. Develyn just stood there, in front of the dragon.

"Does this kid have a deathwish? RUN YOU FOOL!" another teacher shouted.

"Joor Zeh Frul," Develyn shouted. A jet of blue light hit the dragon, unleashing a large wave of blue light. A brave fourth grader wanted to assist Develyn, but the dragon ate him. The dragon grabbed the kid, shook him around like a dog playing with it's favorite toy, and then flung him a random direction.

"Ohh!" Asriel shrieked as he saw the kid flung toward the fence. A pocketknife was soon dropped by the kid. Develyn picked it up and started stabbing the dragon.

"Holy cow... he uttered weird phrase, and now he's fighting the beast," a third teacher stated.

"Dev... Undyne is right. You might be part Monster," Asriel muttered.

Minutes later, the dragon died. The flesh soon started to engulf in flames and corrode. All of a sudden, whispy things fly straight toward Develyn, and the dragon was reduced to it's skeletal remains.

"Oh my, God... It can't be... Dragonborn!" a teacher exclaimed.

"Like the tales, dad told me when I was a kid," another teacher added.

"I thought it was a legend, like the mountain," a third teacher noted.

Develyn was once again, confused. He was called something different, but the term he remembered. Is this what he truly is, some sort of savage dragon killer?

"We gotta get the kids out of here. We're cancelling classes for the next few days," the principal stated.

Asriel and Frisk approached Develyn, who was still zoning out on the skeletal remains of the dragon.

"Did I really just do that?" Develyn asked.

"You did. And the term... Dragonborn. I swear, that's something we've never heard of before," Asriel answered.

"Maybe I need a bit of a history lesson," Develyn muttered.

"Let's go sit down for a bit," Frisk suggested. Develyn walked away from what he did, still looking at the skeletal remains of the dragon. He then looked away and followed them.

Toriel was sitting around watching TV when the phone went off.

"Hello?" Toriel asked.

"Hello, this is principal Adam Jones speaking. I am informing you that school has been cancelled today due to a rather strange event. Something is up with Develyn. I want you to pick your children up, please," Principal Jones explained.

"OK... I'll be there soon," Toriel stated before hanging up. Toriel herself has been wondering what's been going on with Develyn. Maybe what Frisk said was true, Develyn might be part Monster.

***

The three were sitting around, waiting for Toriel to arrive.

"I don't what the hell just happened. I literally absorbed a SOUL, a dragon SOUL, none the less. What's going on with me?!" Develyn asked.

"Maybe Alphys can figure out what's going on," Frisk answered.

"Who's she?" Develyn asked.

"She's the royal scientist. She was rather fascinated with humans, but with you, she might have a bit of fun learning about you," Frisk explained.

"Maybe I should visit her," Develyn noted.

Toriel soon pulled up, allowing the three to go to it.

"Are all of you guys OK? That was scary wasn't it?" Toriel questioned.

"We're OK, I had to see a student get killed by the dragon. Develyn just straight up did something to the dragon," Asriel answered.

"I swear. Develyn, you are going to Alphys' lab tomorrow, no further questions," Toriel added.

"OK," Develyn answered.

Develyn was dead silent for the rest of the day. He was unable to grasp on what he did. Not only he killed a dragon, but he also absorbed it's SOUL. Absorbing a SOUL tends to give powers to certain people. Many things were being retold through. On how his maternal grandfather told him he's a Dragonborn, or how Undyne gave Develyn the assumption that he's part Monster.

Eventually, bedtime rolled around. Develyn soon started to drift off to sleep.

***

Develyn woke up, but not physically. He woke up in a dream. Little did he know that he woke up in Frisk's dream. He was confused with the landscape. It wasn't all bright and cheery, but it was covered in blood.

"I don't recall Frisk being a savage killer. She's too nice. She does favor pacifism, after all," Develyn thought to himself.

He then recalled a part of what Asgore told him.

"Her obsession with sharp objects made me, Tori, and Asriel a little queasy," the words echoed. Develyn then pieced together that he was in Frisk's nightmare with Chara.

"What the hell. Frisk, where are you?!" Develyn shouted.

After hearing no response, he continued down the forsaken, crimson landscape.
