Love worth fighting for

Addison's P.O.V.

Today Negan plans on ending this feud with Rick. I am unsure what will happen today, but I can't handle any more death.

My hands gently cradle my best friend's baby in my arms, as I pace the  length of my room. Amber would be so happy to know her baby is safe, and that she is eating well. I will be happy when she finally sleeps through the night, but I love her so much.

Negan left today, to check on the bullets for today's battle. I hope Eugene did as he was told, otherwise we could lose today. I don't want Rick and my friends to die, but I also can't lose Negan.

This situation is so fucked up, but Rick turned his back on me when he let Trent kidnap me. I would like for the two communities to just leave each other alone, but this war has escalated too far for that. Rick may see  Negan as the enemy still, but I can't. He killed Simon for raping me, and he rescued me from Trent.

The door to my room swings open, revealing the dark-haired savior. After gently laying Lucille down on the desk, he walks over and sits beside me.

" How are my two favorite girls?"

" We are fine. Baby Faith loves to sleep during the day and keep me awake at night. She still has her days and nights confused, but we will get there.

How did it go with Eugene? Are the bullets ready for today? He did finish the amount you requested right?"

Negan sighs as he runs his finger over his daughters face. His gloved hand traces her tiny cheeks, as a loving smile tugs at his lips.

" Yeah, he did, but something feels off. I am not sure I want to use the ones he made. I trusted Simon and Dwight, I am not sure if I am right in trusting Eugene with a battle that could end us if it goes wrong."

" I understand, but what choice do we have? We can't magically have bullets.  We don't have any other choice than to trust him. I think he has proven his loyalty, and I doubt he would betray us. "

" Actually, Laura told me that Simon redirected a supply of weapons to an old barn not far from here. We could use those, instead of the ones made by  Eugene. It would mean we had a little less than we needed, but it might work out better in the long run."

" What would we tell Eugen?"

" He won't know. We will load them  up, but not use them. The guns will already be loaded with our own. The ones he mad will be back up."

" Well, if you think it's the right thing to do then do it. I am for winning this, so we can start over. I want a better future for this little own, and for all the people here."

" I am upset this ended up like this. All this shit could have been avoided if Rick had been willing to be on board."

" He can't get on board with a man that kills his friends Negan.  Granted he did start this, but how it has ended up is on both of you.

Either one of you could have ended things and to called it quits, but it just kept escalating. All of the leaders are to blame for this, not just Rick."

" I am not allowing what he has done to go unpunished. He crossed the line by allowing you to be kidnapped. There is no way in hell I could work with him after that. "

" I know. I just hate this whole thing. Could you promise me something?"

" What?"

" Don't kill Maggie. She is pregnant and I don't think the child should die because of its mother's choices."

" I will not kill her, but Rick and most of his men are dead. I can't risk any uprising int he future."

" Did you want me to come with you today?"

" Yes, but I am worried you will be harmed. It might be better if you stay here. "

" I would be worried if I stayed. I need to come, so I don't go crazy."

" I would be too worried if you came, besides I think my daughter needs her mama."

" I am not her mom Negan."

" Yes, you are. You have cared for her since she came into this world. Thats what a mother does, it doesn't matter that your not her biological mother.

A family isn't about blood, it's about the people we care about, that's what makes a family."

" Okay, well I will take care of her, and be her mother. I just need her father to come back okay."

" I will. I have a woman and a daughter worth fighting for. You can bet your ass I will be back."

Negan sat up, allowing his knees to pop as he did so. I follow him to the door, as he grabs Lucille and begins to leave.

"Sir, we are ready to go." Arat's voice echoed off the radio, interrupting our moment.

" I am coming. Make sure all the weapons are loaded, and the teams are in the trucks. I will be down in a minute."

" Yes, sir."

I follow him to the door and kiss him before he leaves. His soft lips linger on my own, as we relish this moment in time.

" Come back to me," I whisper softly as he gently caresses my face.

" I will." He spoke softly, as he walks, away, leaving me alone once again.
