tuesday morning

| EVE'S POV |

i still haven't told my parents about him, and it's actually killing me. i've gone through this before, but ethan and i weren't the same a few weeks ago. he was simply a crush then, but now it's more than that. i was confused at first about him and i, but now i'm sure about what we have. at least, i hope he feels the same.

"you have 12 minutes, young lady!" my dad's voice travels up the stairs and into my room.

"i'm almost ready." i assure him, a slight attitude in my voice that i didn't exactly mean.

before i got out of the car last night, i almost had a mental breakdown about how my parents would react when i told them i "stayed after" at school to finish a test. luckily, they believed it. i only got home and hour and a half or so late, so i guess it was pretty convincing. granted, i forgot to take off ethan's sweatshirt before i walked in. they questioned it since they've never seen it on me, so i showed them my wet one from the rain, and made up that ethan's was actually alex's spare hoodie from her locker, and i needed to wear it since i was cold. kinda dumb, but again they believed it.

as i finished getting dressed, a new notification came through on my phone, one that i haven't seen in a while.

ethan: can we drive together today

my stomach immediately tied in knots at the facts running through my head.

1. nobody knows about ethan and i "making up" accept for grayson.

2. everyone still thinks the twins are fuckboys, that they haven't changed

and what if people see ethan and i walk in together. he might not even consider us official yet. when i asked him what we were, all he said was he thinks we're 'in love', but he never truly told me, so as far as i'm concerned we just like each other.

maybe we're just a thing, and he wants to keep it that way.

me: my parents...

ethan: exactly, i have an idea

ethan: walk to the end of your street, try not to let them see you

ethan: im leaving now

ethan: see you soon ;)

i grabbed my bag and my phone off of my nightstand, quickly heading downstairs. without really wanting to interact with my parents, i slip out the door. i practically ran down my driveway, knowing that they're going to see that i didn't take my car, and again i'll have to lie and say that alex or blair picked me up.

i finally made it to the end of my street, seeing ethans car just off of the road. butterflies took over my stomach as i noticed his facial expression. i call it his relaxed yet pissed off face, his jaw is almost always clenched, arm muscles flexed in his usual black tee shirt.

fucking hell.

he looked down at his phone, still not noticing me so i harshly knocked on the window, attempting to scare him, and i succeeded.
