monday morning

you know those days where you just can't seem to get out of your own way? it seems like nothing has gone right all day and you just want to scream. you can actually feel the sadness in the pit of your stomach, making you want to cry for hours. today is one of those days.

it began to rain as i wrapped my soft sheets around my body. i glanced at my phone, it read 4 a.m. i haven't been able to sleep for the past two days because of this. the fact that i was used by someone i thought i could trust. the grayson part left me unaffected, but the fact that ethan was a part of it makes my heart clench with both anger and absolute sadness.

i thought he cared, he didn't. i thought he was different, he isn't. and i actually thought that maybe he loved me, but now i know he never did and never will. i was stupid in the first place for thinking he would.

tears strolled down my cheeks as i sat up, staring out the dark window at the trees swaying slightly. lighting flashed in the distance as a slight rumble of thunder echoed from miles away.

just at the right time, my phone buzzes.

ethan: im so sorry

ethan: please let me explain

i grasped my phone in my small hands as they shook due to my room being cold. the brightness of my phone screen lit up as i began typing. but i stopped, i can't do this. i cant crawl back.

me: goodnight ethan

i locked my phone, sliding it onto my nightstand. i pulled the sheets over my torso, allowing my tears to whither away as i fell asleep.

| ETHAN'S POV |

'goodnight ethan'

that pretty much killed me. i just want to explain and she's too heartbroken to let me in. i feel so worthless, so brainless for even agreeing to the bet in the first place. she's convinced i only wanted sex, but she's wrong. so wrong. that girl has so much more to offer.

i threw my phone onto my desk, not caring about the loud sound it made. i gently closed my eyes, drifting off.

"awful smiley tonight." she joked. my lips were curved upwards as my eyes squinted in embarrassment that she caught me looking in her direction.

"stop." i laughed.

"stop what?" she said sarcastically, shoving my shoulder as she laughed as well.

"you know what you're doing, stop it." i allowed my smile to fade from my face due to her teasing me.

"i'm you're that mad about it, then don't look at me." she says as she looked back out the window.

"well ,that's a little difficult." i sighed, making her blush.

"isn't that too bad..." at this point, she was really getting to me.

"well now you're just asking for it." i groaned as i slowed the car, pulling over onto a dark dirt road.

i leaned over the center console forcefully, grabbing her jaw, pulling her towards me.
