my eyes threaten to close as i try my best to stay awake. my head falls back gently, hitting the head rest as i stare at the road in front of me. the clock on my radio reads 2:30 am, making me want to sleep even more. grayson snores lightly in the back, adding to my problem.

"hey." ethan starts, turning his gaze from the road, to me. "you can fall asleep, it's okay." his hand grabs mine, rubbing my knuckles soothingly.

i shake my head, "i want to stay awake with you." i squint, trying to focus. he smiles, "you're so fucking cute, stop." his expression fades as he becomes for serious, "you should just stay at our place tonight, i'll bring you home tomorrow."

rain begins falling on the windshield, catching my attention, "my parents think i'm staying at blair's." i turn my focus back to him, "so sure."

his eyes turn away from mine, staring at the rain drops that keep falling down faster, and faster. he flinched slightly, swallowing hard as he keeps his eyes on the now slick road in front of him.

"ethan." i sit up, "it's just rain, what's wrong?"

he shakes his head, "nothing, it just came out of nowhere." his eyes meet mine yet again, "im fine."

a comfortable silence fills the car as his thumb continues to graze the skin on my knuckles.

his voice becomes smooth and soft, "you're easy to convince when you're sleepy."

we finally pull into the driveway, "convince?" i question.

"usually i have to beg you to stay over because of your parents." he states, smirking in the process.

he shuts off the car, leaving us in the dark. "they'll know tomorrow, then we won't have to worry." i lean over the center console, gripping the back of his neck for support. he tastes of mint and alcohol as he pulls on my bottom lip, allowing it to snap. it doesn't take long for his hands to travel down my back, eventually to ass.

"you guys gonna fuck too while you're at it?" grayson's suddenly awake, startling both of us as he speaks loud, rubbing his tired eyes.

"i forgot you were here so not gonna lie, we might've." ethan sarcastically groans, rolling his eyes at his brothers presence.

"ethan!" i mutter, my eyes widening in embarrassment. he shrugs as he laughs, making me put my face in my hands.

grayson opens his door quickly, "you two have fun, i'm going to bed." he's trying to not laugh as well as he practically jumps out of the car.

ethan and i get out too, following behind him as we walk in the empty house. grayson and i flick off our shoes, ethan however keeps his on, still holding his keys. at this point i'm so tired, i don't even bother asking.

i open ethan's door as grayson turns down the hallway, sending us both a "goodnight." the closer i got to his bed, the more comfortable it looked. i flopped down on it, already curling under the sheets. he looks down, practically staring at the floor as he barely walks into the room. he looked as if he was in deep thoughtful, almost lost.
