monday

i stared at the flyer in my hands that read, "senior lake trip!" in bold lettering on the top.

"we have to go." alex eagerly shuts her locker, leaning against it afterwords.

i sigh, "i don't know, i heard the senior trip is always pretty...bad."

she squints her eyes, as if i were dumb. "bad? what do you mean-"

"the whole point of the senior trip is to get laid, alex." i cut in, "it's just like prom." my eyes roll.

she chuckles, "so what?" live a little eve, it's not like anyone's forcing you."

my face goes red at the thought, ive never lost my virginity. however, i can almost guarantee that some trip isn't going to change that.

"what's this?" brett's voice pulls me out of my thoughts. he wraps his arms around alex from behind, causing her cheeks to turn pink.

she giggles, "the senior trip. we're going right?" her eyes perk up to his, hope laced in her tone.

"why wouldn't we?" tyler says plainly, appearing out of what felt like nowhere. he takes the flyer out of my hands, reading the material.

soon enough, grayson makes his way towards us, joining in on the conversation. "dude it's at the lake, we can cliff jump." his eyes light up with excitement.

the four of them discuss the trip as i stand listening, realizing that ethan isn't here yet again. my eyes peer down the halls, nothing. i then realize that blair isn't here either. which doesn't surprise me considering she's always off with a group of guys. it's just ironic i guess.

the loud ringing of the first period bells echoes through the hallway. students push their way through the crowd, trying to get to their first class. a pit of worry ends up in my stomach, is he ditching?

"eve!" grayson yells slightly, trying to get my attention. i must've zoned out. "you good?"

"yeah, yeah i'm fine." i stutter a little. he placed his hand on mine, trying to get me through everyone considering how short i was.

we finally make it to an open area of the hallway, where there's room to talk since everyone is clearing out fast.

"have you seen ethan?" he nearly whispers, leaning against the wall next to him, allowing his biceps to stretch out the sleeves of his shirt.

i'm a little taken back by his question, considering i was going to ask the same thing. "i was going to ask you, did he ditch?"

he shrugs, "no, i saw him this morning. we met up in the hall, then split up."

a second bell rings, signaling that we're late.

"we'll talk at lunch, i'm sure he's okay." he tries to calm me down. i nod my head, allowing him
to walk to his first class.

i stare at the wall for a few seconds, gathering my thoughts. i thought about texting ethan, but i didn't want to sound clingy. he could be at school for all i know, and he just decided not to meet up with us like usual.
