| EVE'S POV |
i feel like everyone's staring at me as i miserably walk down the main hallway, attempting to get to first period.
everyone was at that party. at least most of the senior class was. i felt as if i were on display in a bright store, that's how many people were eyeing me up and down.
not to mention how betrayed i feel. not only by ethan, but by everyone else too. nobody was there for me, nobody cares. alex kept the secret from me, but i guess that's only because she was threatened by grayson.
i feel like i'm now known as "that girl". the girl who got played by no other than ethan and grayson dolan. the girl that's the talk of the school until the drama dies down. but maybe i'm overthinking things, maybe i should talk to-
"miss. harlow." my teacher separates the two words after repeatedly calling my name, and getting no response.
"y-yes?" i perk my head up, i'm in class. how'd i get here? wasn't i just in the hallway? time flies when you think too much.
"i asked if you could do number three on the board." she raises her eyebrows, reaching out her hand to give me a marker.
"oh, sure." i accept the task hesitantly, knowing i didn't do the weekend homework. i was too busy overthinking.
i push myself off of my chair, making my way towards the whiteboard. mrs. davis continues to explain the lesson as i try my best to figure out the equation in front of me. the sound of the metal door knob clicks as the slight squeak of a sneaker sounds throughout the room.
"late again, are we?" mrs. davis asks as i keep my focus on the board, knowing damn well who just walked through that door.
"i'm sorry, it won't happen again." ethan's voice flows through my ears, smoother than i would've liked. of course, i was on the side of the board that was closest to the door, making my back and his left arm almost touch.
i turn around quickly, seeming that i was done with the equation after guessing the answer. i swear the sound of his voice and seeing him in front of me was what me made me accidentally drop my marker.
a few snickers left everyone's mouth as he bent down to pick it up, "here." he pretty much whispers as his lips remain casual, not smiling yet not frowning.
he walks to his seat as i hand the marker back to our teacher, going back to my seat as well.
i let out a breath i'd been holding in, and internally rolled my eyes at the situation. of course i had to make a fool of myself like that.
and of course, he had to be eyeing me for the rest of class, making my cheeks become red with both anger and embarrassment.

| ETHAN'S POV |
as soon as the bell rang, she was out of that room. it's obvious she's avoiding me, and i don't blame her at all. i made a douchebag mistake, and i need to fix things.
i don't have her in any of my other classes aside from period 1, so staying at school is kind of pointless for me. i just want to talk to her. we were only a thing for 5 minutes, i want more. more of her heart, the way she laughs, the way i make her blush, all of it.
but i need to clear my head before i talk to her again, i don't want to fuck this up.
since i'm a senior, i have a free period at the end of the day. i decide to leave school early, and drive home. as i turn my keys, i realize exactly how stressed out i am about this.
i come home to an empty house, as usual. my parents are pretty much always working, my sister is in college, and gray is still at school. i have about an hour of peace until he gets back, so i guess i should use my time wisely.
i make my way to my room, closing the door and sitting down on my bed. my back comes in contact with the wall next to it as a sigh leaves my mouth. i look around my room in an attempt to find something that will entertain me. no ideas spring to my mind, so i walk towards my closet, opening it in hopes i would find something. i stumbled upon old memories, sports trophies and old books, but nothing very interesting.
i reach my hand up high to the shelf above the shirts that are hanging. my finger tips glide across something leather, and soft. i carefully slide it towards me, making sure to not let it fall. i put it in both of my hands as my eyes examined the familiar journal.
i turned it over in my hands, reading the scribbled letters on the back that read:
"dream journal".
