⊱⋇⊰⊱⊛⊰⊱⋇⊰

Rey couldn't sleep that night. It was becoming quite a pattern. Of course she couldn't. Her brain simply had so much on her mind that sleep wasn't even a possibility.

Thane and Jude were part of the Rebel Alliance. She had learned that much. At least that explained why Jude had been acting so strange around her. However, it only further confused why Thane himself had delivered a package from Kylo Ren.

Thane and Jude both knew she also had the Rebel pin from the woman- someone named Maz, by the sound of it- and were trying to figure out whether Rey would join the Resistance.

It also got fuzzy there- they talked about her as though she was some sort of symbol, when she'd never involved herself in any Resistance ordeals of the sort. How could she possibly be any rebellion hero?

And how could they possibly know she was Force-Sensitive? Were they in league with Luke Skywalker? She hadn't hailed him in days anyhow. And besides, he was a reclusive hermit living on an island in the middle of nowhere.

And Snoke, he hadn't even attempted to call her back. It'd been almost a week since that whole episode happened as well. Why hadn't he investigated her, or tried to "continue her training"? Had he just assumed since she'd fainted, she'd forgotten the whole thing?

What in Maker's name was Nightlock? And why were Thane and Ciena ordering it in from the Resistance as a "precaution"?

Rey couldn't take it any longer. It was time to start getting some answers. Now.

When breakfast time rolled around, she had formulated a plan. She was ready.

Rey was the first one to breakfast, and was halfway finished with her meal when everyone filed into the dining room.

"Since when are you an early riser, sleepyhead?" Thane joked as he pulled out a chair for himself.

There were noticeable circles underneath his eyes. Were those there before? Rey couldn't help but find herself questioning everything about him now that she knew of the Resistance.

"Couldn't sleep." She said flatly, almost a snap.

Berisse and Kendy both sat down with strange looks at Rey as well. Berisse had begun waking up earlier as she adjusted to the penthouse schedule while Rey had slowly become less and less of an early riser. Kendy had adapted to the switch of the two. Both of them were quite shocked to see her up and angry so early.

"You seem to be quite irritated. Is everything alright?" Jude asked from across from her, coincidentally sitting right next to Thane.

No, Rey wanted to scream. Nothing's alright, everything is a lie! Nobody tells me anything and nobody is who they say they are!

But instead, she shrugged. "We've got 3 days until we're thrown into the Arena. I'm stressed."

Rey sipped down the rest of her enzyme soup with an exhale. "Actually, I think I'm going to go to the roof to clear my head."

She looked eyes with Jude as she took a sip of her milk. "Jude, want to come?"

Rey could see her eyes widen and her cheeks enlarge as she struggled to swallow. The request had caught her off-guard.

"I'll accompany you, certainly," she said when everyone's eyes turned to her. Thane murmured something under his breath.

"Great. Let's go."

She rose from her seat without waiting for Jude to finish the rest of her meal.

As soon as the elevator doors closed, both the women inside, Rey pivoted and pinned the taller woman against the wall.
