" Sam! What the hell are you doing? " Zeppelin laughed, as she looked up at Sam about to climb up onto to a tree branch. She blocked the orange glow from the sun that was shining into her eyes by placing her hand in front of her face, directly in front of her eyes.

" Just climbing! What does it look I am doing? " He snapped back, sending a white teeth grin her way. She huffed and got up from the hard ground, wiping her hands on her jeans. She skipped to the tree, grabbing onto the branch Sam was on as it was close to the ground.

Sam was already sitting on the branch, looking out into the distance as the sun was setting soon. Zeppelin grabbed Sam's shoulder to balance herself on the branch and Sam grabbed her hand quickly and helped her sit down onto it. She let out a sigh and breath when she finally was able to sit down on the branch without falling off.

She placed her head on Sam's shoulder, looking out into the distance as he was. It was spectacular. The mix of orange and yellow in the sky was perfect for the fall night where it perfectly contrasted with the turning leaves. The two sat there for hours, just watching and mumbling to each other about various things.

Some time later Sam asked her the time. Zeppelin checked her phone that was in her front pocket, squinting her eyes as the brightness was blinding and the darkness had fallen on the two. She replied with almost midnight. Sam bolted up, almost falling off the damn tree branch causing Zeppelin to squeal.

" I need to get going. I am gonna be late." Sam said, jumping off the tree branch. Zeppelin looked down at him with wide eyes, wondering how he could've just jumped off the branch since he had always had a fear of heights, even if they weren't that high.

Zeppelin paced herself going down as to not hurt herself, but once she planted her feet on the ground, Sam had already walked off without her. She rolled her eyes, wondering why he decided to ditch her and didn't tell her what the hell was going on.

He had been gone a lot recently which wasn't like him. He would always plan stuff with her to hang out or go record shopping. Now, Zeppelin was lucky if she even got to see him at all.

She finally caught up to him, panting as she was never good at running. Sam stopped in his place, shaking a bit and sweat started to form on his forehead. She looked up at him concerned, not really caring at the moment about the feeling of her lungs bursting.

" Sam! What is going on? You barely hang out with me anymore and then run off the first time we hang out in months! I thought we were friends. Well, I- " Zeppelin stopped herself short. She didn't know if now was the good time to tell him or not.

" I can't tell you right now, okay? It's too dangerous for you. " He replied back, sorrow in his eyes. He kissed her cheek, and then ran into the path towards the Kiszka's house. Zeppelin placed her fingertip against the place he kissed, a warm, almost burning sensation running through her finger and cheek.

She ran after him though. She couldn't just let him go and deal with whatever on his own. They had never been like that towards each other. They had always helped each other with everything, no matter what it was.

She finally reached the Kiszka's house, running up the steps and knocking against the door. She waited a bit, anxious as no one was answering the door. She knocked once more, waited, but no one came. She rushed down the stairs toward the backyard and what she saw made her stop dead in her tracks.

There was a wolf twice as big as her in the backyard. Her eyes widened. No, it was a werewolf. She snapped out of the trance by someone placing a hand on her shoulder. She turned around to meet eyes with Jake.

He rushed into a door into the house that she didn't remember seeing when she walked by. There was a flight of stairs they went down into the basement. Zeppelin sat down onto the bed that was against a wall. She had never remembered seeing a bed all the times she had come down here.

" I am going to explain all of this to you right now, okay? What you saw out there..." Jake started, pointing his finger to the wall towards the outside, " that was Sam. That's the reason he hasn't been able to see you in a long time. He has been trying to deal with, whatever this is, and didn't want to get you involved."

Everything all started to fall into place. All the times he canceled plans twenty minutes beforehand or left during times they were hanging out and gave her an excuse as to why he had to leave. It was all because of what he has been going through. She was interrupted from her thoughts as a door slammed shut and Sam came into view with his long brown hair into a bun on the nape of his neck.

He looked straight at Zeppelin when he came into the room. He looked over at Jake, and he must've got the message to leave because he did. Sam sat down next to her, their shoulder brushing against each other. Zeppelin put her head against Sam's shoulder. She couldn't tell but he smiled at the gesture.

To someone looking in on the inside, it would look like nothing but to them, it meant they would always have each other's backs, involving everything and nothing. So, as Zeppelin had her head against his shoulder, they both knew that this situation was going to be okay and they would be together through it.
