Donna slammed the door to her brother's 1974 Mustang, flipping him off as she walked up the steps to Sam's house. She could hear Roger yelling over the Black Sabbath song coming from the radio but she couldn't make out what he yelled. She rolled her eyes, about to knock on the door but was beat by Sam opening the door.

" I could hear your asshole brother screaming from all the way inside, " He said, pointing his thumb in the direction of his house. As he said this, Roger hit the gas pedal and sped off from the house. Sam smiled and waved bye to him, in a mocking way.

" Come on. Let's go inside, " He said, hand on her back ushering her into the house. She walked into the house to be met with the sweet smell of a home cooked meal. Karen stepped out of the kitchen, waving and smiling at the girl, but then proceeded back into the kitchen to get back to cooking.

She was led to the living room by Sam only to be met with the sound of Alice Cooper playing through the speakers of the record player. She could see Josh bopping his head back and forth to No More Mr. Nice Guy. He turned around though at the sound of them entering the room. He quickly turned off the record player, rushing towards his room down the hall.

" What's with him? " Donna asked, going towards the records they had. She was flipping through all of them to finally find what she was looking for. Tapestry by Carole King. She put the Alice Cooper record back into the sleeve and placed the Carole King vinyl on.

" I don't even know, " Sam replied, starting to grin as Donna started dancing around the room. Her dress started to twirl around her legs and she had the most beautiful smile on her face. She curled her fingers, motioning for Sam to come dance with her. He obliged and they started to dance with each other.

From Josh's room, they could hear The Who start to become increasingly louder. My Generation was blaring out from the walls. Donna went over to the record player and turned the knob, Carole King's beautiful vocals coming from the speakers even louder than they were before. All the sudden, a loud thud came from down the hall. Josh came rushing into the living room, looking more angry than Donna had ever seen him.

She went over to the record player again, turning it down all the way. She looked back at Josh and he still had the same look on his face. The same angry expression on his face but there was more to it. There was a longing and sadness that was filled in his eyes. She stepped closer to him, but was stopped from Sam's arm blocking her. She looked at Sam but he nodded his head no to her.

Josh stomped back to his room, almost child like. Sam sighed and put his hand against his forehead. Donna was very confused at what was going on. Clearly, Sam did know why his brother was acting the way he was. She wanted to know some answers and it had to be right now. She knew where she needed to get them from too. Josh.

She ran, almost, to the door that would lead into Josh's room. Sam called out to her but she didn't reply back. She knocked against his door. She waited but no answer. She opened the door to see Josh on his bed with a pair of headphones on.

" What the hell?! You can't just barge into people's rooms! " He yelled, rising up from the bed and walking towards her. She admits it was wrong to walk into his room but she needed to know why he acted the way he did towards her.

" Why do you hate me?! " Donna yelled back to him. She didn't want to become angry but she was starting to. She didn't know why he was rude to her when she was always polite to him.

" I don't hate y- " He started to say but drifted off towards the end of his sentence. His features on his face started to change from angry to now almost guilty. She could tell immediately that he felt bad. She walked closer to him, so now they were about arms length away from each other.

" Yes you do, " She whispered. Tears started falling down her cheeks and she didn't even realize she had started to cry. She cursed that she always became so teary eyed at everything. Josh stepped closer to her, which she was surprised at and wiped the tears from her eyes with the pad of his thumb.

" No, I don't. I love you, " He replied, almost breathily. Donna's breath got caught in her throat and her eyes widened. She was very confused and had no idea what had just happened but she couldn't deny the desire she had to kiss Josh right now.

Josh looked down at her lips and licked his lips as he did so. She stepped closer to him and pressed her lips against his. It was only a few seconds they shared like that but it felt like they were like that for hours. They pulled back from each other and both were smiling at each other.

Donna went over to his bed and sat down. She couldn't even try to not smile at this moment. It was almost glued to her face. Josh walked over to his record player and looked through the vinyls. He finally picked one out and she could hear a giggle escape his lips.

" Want to listen to some Carole King? "

i hoped you all liked that one shot! i really enjoyed writing it!

so this was set in 1975 cause i want to write more of these one shots set in the seventies. and i tried to make josh angsty but i don't think it worked lol. i also added so much carole king in this chapter because i love her but i think also fitted the character of donna. and yes, i did get inspiration from donna on that 70s show.

thank you all so much for reading this! it means so much to me!
