~~The next day, (y/n's) POV~~

I entered my first class, panting for breath as I had just sprinted down the hall, due to being late. The bell rang out right as I entered the door, and I cheered a silent victory in my head, as I walked to my desk, and began unpacking my things needed for class.
"(Y/n)?" I heard a voice say behind me. I turned around to see Kaoru, eyebrow raised most likely at my red face. "You uh, you okay?" I nodded, laughing a little.
"It may seem dumb, but I've never been late to class before. At least, not without reason. I wasn't going to make today the first day."
"Ah, well did you by chance do your hair this morning?" My eyes widened slightly as I peered past him, seeing the snickering girls. I mentally cursed myself as I tried to pat down my (h/c) hair, attempting to tame it. "Geez, this is my fault for forgetting to set my alarm."
I earned another raised brow from the twin, but before he could speak, his thoughts were cut short by the teacher walking in, and telling everyone to take their seats. He gave my shoulder a quick pat before sitting down, causing me to smile lightly to him, and take my own seat.

~~Lunchtime~~

I stretched my sore limbs, thankful for the lunch bell. The thought of food causing my stomach to growl.
I gathered my books, placing them neatly into my bag and began my way to the cafeteria, though someone, or someone's had other plans.
"(Y/n)!" I heard two voices call out. I turned to see the twins, standing along side Haruhi, waving their hands at me. "Hey (y/n), I think you should come with me to the host club. I'm there after school most days so we are probably gonna have to work on our project some there anyways, so I figure get the introductions out of the way so the guys, well more boss won't bother you as much." Kaoru approached me, grinning. I thought it over for a second.
It's not that I didn't know the host club, or who was in it. I knew it very well. Girls are always talking about them.
Though, I guess I didn't mind paying a visit, since I probably will have to spend some time there anyway.
"Okay, but we still get lunch?.." I said in a slightly hushed tone, hoping they didn't hear the dying noises of my stomach. I heard Kaoru chuckle, and nod. "Yeah, definitely."
So, we made our way up the many flights of stairs. It was quiet for a while, until Kaoru glanced at me. "By the way, you said you forgot to set your alarm this morning? I don't understand, why not just have your maids wake you up?" This seemed to interest Hikaru, who had stopped his conversation with Haruhi to listen in.
"Well, I uh..."

Since you won't amount to anything anyways, (y/n), you are not allowed to have the service of the maids and butlers. You will be driven to and from school, but that will be it. You need to learn to live like a commoner, since you are destined to be one.

"I like to be self sufficient. I hate always having to rely on my staff, so I try to not work them too hard." I smiled at my own response, though slapped myself mentally for slipping up about my alarm. Of course their maids wake them up, that's common for the rich. "I see." Was all he responded, as his focus went to the large door that was now in front of us.
"Well, (y/n), welcome, to the host club." He smiled at me, as him and his brother both pushed the doors open. The room was actually rather empty, but a few males sat around a table, discussing matters and eating lunch. When the door creaked, a blonde turned his attention towards us, and gasped as he ran over, smothering Haruhi. My eyes widened at the poor boy, who was desperately trying to escape the blondes grasp.
"Boss, can you stop harassing Haruhi for a minute so I can introduce someone?" Kaoru said blankly, as Hikaru snickered and the blonde huffed, releasing Haruhi and walking over. "I'm sorry, Princess. I didn't see you walk in, how rude of me. I, am Tamaki Suoh, the king of the host club." He kneeled down, kissing the top of my hand.
My face flared red as I pulled it away, clearing my throat. "The pleasure is mine, I am (y/n)(l/n)." I bowed, causing Tamaki to go silent for a minute. When I looked up, peeking at him through my bangs, his face was slightly red.
"Wow, (y/n)-Chan! That was really cute!" Another blonde, rushed over grabbing my hand and spinning me slightly. Ah, I've heard of this small boy. He's Honey senpai. His cousin is the quiet dark haired male, Mori Senpai.
"Kyoya Ootori." A raven haired male with glasses walked up, holding a black book in his hands. "It's a pleasure to meet you, miss (l/n)." He smiled lightly, but crossed his arms.
"Now, Kaoru, you know we have a meeting right now, why bring a guest?"
"Oh, I'm not a guest. No offense, but I have better things to do than to be fawned over by a bunch of guys. I have some decency." I didn't mean to say it so rudely, but I never understood the point of this club, and why girls liked it so much. I mean, being complimented is nice and all, but they don't mean it. I'd rather someone who actually likes me call me beautiful, and only me.
"W-well it's not that our guests don't have decency.." I seemed to have stunned Tamaki, as he fell over his own words. I raised my hands in defense, waving them back and forth. "Oh, no no I didn't mean to be rude! I just, I prefer the real thing. I'd rather someone call me beautiful and mean it."
Kyoya nodded at my statement, opening his book and writing something down. "So what does bring you here, if you have no business?"
"(Y/n) and I have been assigned together for this project, but we can't work on it much during school hours, so she might be here sometimes so we can do some research and studying." Kaoru explained to Kyoya, who nodded in approval.
"Just don't let it get in the way of activities."
"I won't, I can just stay in the back and wait for him to be finished." I smiled, then frowned at my stomach growling.
"(Y/n)-Chan, do you want some cake?" Honey grinned up at me, causing me to smile. "Okay, I would love some."

~~Kaoru's POV~~

I watched as Honey dragged (y/n) over to his table, showing her the different flavors of cake we had along with some teas.
"Hey, Kyoya?" I glanced over to him, causing him to raise his eyebrow.
"Do you have any information in (y/n) in that weird book?"
"Well, I usually only keep note of our guests and members. Or anyone of interest. I've never interacted, nor had any interest in the (l/n's), so I've never had to gather information."
"I see." I stuffed my hands into my pockets as I looked back over at her. It was odd, I had this sinking feeling like I knew her. Or that there's something she's hiding. Whatever it was, I didnt really like the feeling.
"You're going to her house this weekend, maybe you'll find something out there?" Hikaru stands by my side, his eyes traveling to the (h/c) haired girl as well. "Maybe." I hummed in response, walking to a couch and sitting. (Y/n) seemed to have finished eating with Honey, and began to walk over to me, sitting beside me.
"I wasn't trying to be rude earlier about your club. It's just, not my thing." She shyly tucked a stand of her hair behind her ear, avoiding eye contact with me. I smirked, laughing a little. She seemed confused and she turned her head to look at me, her eyebrow raised.
"Non taken. It's not for everybody." This seemed to ease her a bit, as she relaxed her body and finally smiled.
"The people aren't bad though. It's an interesting little group."
"You have no idea." We both began laughing, until she stood up. "I'll be right back, gonna head to the restroom."

~~(y/n's) POV~~

I walked out of the host club doors, and made my way to the third floor female restroom. I thought over all the characters there at the host club. Tamaki, Kyoya, Mori, Honey, Haruhi, Hikaru and Kaoru. A rather odd bunch, but they are rather enjoyable when not in host mode.
I finally made it to the rest room, when I pushed it opened and saw Haruhi at the sink, washing his hands. His eyes turned to me, and widened in shock. "W-wait I can explain!" He quickly muttered out as I backed out.
"No, (y/n) look I'm not a pervert!" He ran out of the room, grabbing my arm. I turned towards him, confusion all over my face. "I just, I maybe expected it from Tamaki. But you?"
"No...look okay." He leaned in, whispering in my ear. My eyes widened in shock as I looked HER over. "N-no way!" I gasped, as she nodded.
"I owe them money, so I'm working as a host, you have to keep this a secret, okay? If anyone finds out I'm screwed." She begged, but her eyes widened slightly.
"Yes, but also if you don't keep her secret, miss (l/n), my family private police force could deal with you." I heard Kyoya speak behind me. I shuddered, turning towards him and glaring.
"Really? You're going to threaten me? You might scare everyone else with you're name, but I'm not falling for it. I won't tell her secret, but don't threaten me again."
I stormed off, the confidence I wore, peeling off with each step I took. I walked outside after too many flights of stairs, and sat on the fountain, placing my head into my hands.
"I'm such an idiot. Talking to Kyoya Ootori like that."
"It wasn't the wisest choice, but he was impressed by your sass." I looked up to see Kaoru, holding my school bag.
"Kaoru? Thanks." I reached for my bag, but he lifted it out of my reach. "That's not fair."
"Thanks for stopping by the club room, the guys really liked you." With that, he gave me my bag, and returned into the school. There I stood, watching his figure walk away, hugging my bag to my chest.
I can't let old feelings return.
