(Guys! We've made it to number 5 in the Kaoru Hitachiin tag, and number 3 in the kaoruxreader tag, thank you all SOOO much for reading!)
-~(Y/n)'s POV~
I sat there in shock, my hands scraped from the concrete, my dress slightly torn from rolling along the pavement. I couldn't tear my eyes from the body in front of me, that laid unconscious, a bloody unmoving heap.
A heap that just saved my life.
~Earlier this morning, at school~
I shut my locker door, sighing happily as I walked to class. I felt a presence beside me, and looked to see that Haruhi had joined my side.
"Hey there." I smiled to her, and she gladly returned the gesture. "You have fun last night, Haruhi?" She sighed, rubbing her temple.
"Those idiots give me a headache, but I didn't have a bad time." She smiled, and I chuckled slightly.
"What about you, after, you know.." she was referring to the kiss. My cheeks reddened, and I smiled slightly. "I'm okay. I was scared at first, but it was just a kiss on the cheek. I doubt he even minded it."
"He's over there avoiding your gaze and is a red as a tomato." Haruhi had pointed ahead of us, and I followed her finger to see the twins, Hikaru waving to us but Kaoru staring at the floor, his cheeks completely red.
I giggled at his shyness, and we made our way over to them, saying our good mornings.
I know, it seemed like Kaoru and I were on good terms, but we weren't. We hardly make eye contact, nor directly speak to each other. We will talk if there's a group around us, but other than that we don't exchange hardly a glance. It sucked, but i wasn't the one who made things like this. I wasn't the one who ran away after a kiss.
I frowned to myself, walking away from the group and entering the classroom. I just, really didn't feel like socializing anymore. And it was becoming a problem. I would be fine at first, but then my thoughts and anxiety will force me to push away, and close myself off. I don't want to keep being secluded, but I also don't want to break from my shell.
I looked up as I saw the trio walk in, Hikaru and Haruhi giving me sad glances as Kaoru just walked by like nothing happened. I sighed, giving them a fake smile, and pulling out my phone, and seeing Tamaki had texted in the host group chat.
Tamaki: We should all go out again after school, walk to the ice cream place near the park!
Kyoya: count me out, some of us have things to do.
Honey: I'll go! And Takashi is with me!
Mori: yup.
Haruhi: I need to study after school, I can't.
Hikaru: sure, count us in.
Kaoru: yeah, I don't mind.
I stared at the texts, deciding whether or not I should go.
Ding
Hikaru: (Y/n), you should invite Kairi and come along.
I smiled, turning back and seeing Hikaru already smiling at me. He knew I wanted to go, but knew I probably wouldn't if it were just me.
(Y/n) has added Kairi to the chat.
(Y/n): Down for some ice cream after school!
Kairi: Uh? Do birds fly?
I snickered, putting my phone away as the teacher walked in, and began our lesson for the day.
~Time skip~
The day had dragged on, nothing really eventful happening for once. I yawned as the final bell for the day rang, and I gathered my things and went to go meet with Kairi.
She was already standing outside of my classroom, a grin on her face as I walked out,". She wrapped an arm around my shoulders, and we made our way outside to meet up with the rest of the host club. Well, all except Kyoya and Haruhi.
