~~Friday after school, in the host club~~
~Kaoru's POV~"What do you mean you're going to (y/n's) house?" Tamaki patronized me, getting into my face and shaking my shoulders. "I mean what I said, I told you we had a project to do." I pushed him off, dusting my uniform.
"I think we should accompany you, so we can watch over and make sure you don't do anything sketchy."
"I already regret telling you." I sighed, pinching the bridge of my nose. "You'll only be a distraction. We need to get this project done."
A part of me wishes I hadn't of invited her to the host club, everyone got pretty cozy with her pretty quickly. I don't know why, it's made me a little...
Jealous?
I don't know. I didn't like it. I didn't like how whenever she would walk in, Tamaki would hug her, and spin her around as he does Haruhi. Or how Honey is always climbing omto her back, and cuddling against her when she's sitting.
Even Kyoya like sitting and talking with her, just to chat!
I felt a hand on my shoulder, pulling me out of my thoughts. I looked over to see Hikaru's sincere face. "You okay? You look really upset."
I sighed, nodding. "I'm fine. Just...irritated. Boss always takes things to far."~Hikaru's POV~
"Boss always takes things too far." I smiled, nodding in agreement, though, I knew. I knew he was coming up with the first excuse he could muster up. I knew it bothered him how close the host club got with (y/n) in a matter of days. She really influenced a lot of us, even me. She listens really well, and was just, extremely easy to talk to.
Kaoru didn't want to admit it, though. In his mind he probably thought she would disappear once this assignment is over with. I might be dense, but Kaoru's no better.
I see the rage in his eyes whenever Tamaki gets too touchy with her.
Or when Honey steals her away.
I even see it whenever I speak with her, and make her laugh.
But I also see how when at home, the last few days, most of his conversations involve her.
I was honestly a little...
Jealous?
"Hey guys!" My attention perked up when the (h/c) haired girl came waltzing in, well aware she knew she was now very welcome into the club after hours. Kaoru's irritated face was replaced with happiness, as he walked over, giving her a side hug, but she was quickly taken away by Tamaki, who squeezed her tightly.
"My little angel! Are you sure you'd rather not have me join you alongside Kaoru to your home?" She let out a small cute giggle, and shook her head.
"As much as I'd love to, I'm already risking having one boy over, I can't have a whole parade of them." My eyebrows furrowed. Did her smile just falter? She looked so sad just now.
"Maybe we can have a play date after the project is over?" Her smile returned, and Tamaki cheered.
"I wanna play too!" Honey yelled, hugging onto her arm, causing her to laugh again.~(y/n's) POV~
I laughed as Honey tugged on my arm, spinning me slightly. "Of course, Honey senpai." I smiled, ruffling his hair, causing the small boy to blush.
I turned to the twins, glancing between the two for a second. I guess this peeked their interest, being as they simultaneously put on matching green hats, and twirled around.
"Hey (y/n)! Let's play the which one is Hikaru game!" They grinned.
I sighed, putting my bag down and staring at the boys. Letting out small "hm's" every few seconds. They looked between each other, sweating a little, but I smiled, flicking both of their noses.
"Ow!" They both pouted, and I laughed. "You're Hikaru," I pointed to the one on the left, "and you're Kaoru."
"Bzzt, wrong!" they grinned, but Haruhi crossed her arms. "No, she's right."
I smiled at her, they pulled off their hats.
"You guys might not have known, but I've always been in your classes. I've always been there." And with that, I walked off, leaving the stunned twins behind.~third persons POV~
As (y/n) left the two stunned twins, they looked down, then at each other. "She's just like Haruhi." Hikaru muttered out, his hand shaking. He was confused. He knew she would probably stick around, but he didn't think she'd have this effect on them. Kaoru squeezed Hikaru's hand, staring at the girl walking away. "My chest hurts." He stated bluntly, trying to remember seeing the (h/c) haired girl in his classes. He never paid attention. He never wanted to. But while he stayed in his own world, she was off, wanting to break into it, curious about the twins who spoke to no one. Curious to know why.
"Kaoru, you coming?" (Y/n) shouted across the room, as he nodded. "I'll be home later. I'll text you when I'm done." He smiled to his brother, leaving him behind.
They had a silent walk to (y/n)'s limo, where the driver opened the door for them, casting a curious glance to Kaoru. "Please, Hunter, you can't tell mother. We have a school project to work on, but not enough time during school. You can watch over us, but you must not tell mother..." (y/n) pleaded, as the driver smiled, and nodded. "Anything for you, miss (l/n)." She smiled, giving the middle aged man a quick hug before hoping into the limo, beside Kaoru.
"Your mom won't know I'm there?" He furrowed his brows to her, causing her to blush, and sigh. "Mother doesn't allow me to have boys over. She's very strict."~~Kaoru's POV~~
I stared into her (e/c) eyes. They told stories that she didn't. They pleaded for help. They looked so drained and defeated, but yet still beautiful and innocent. I never really studied her face before. Her big/small eyes. Thin/plump lips that were (l/c). Her (s/c) skin. She was truly beautiful, but had the look of that no one really told her that. I've noticed whenever someone in the host club compliments her, she always gets sad, and refuses to accept it. Why? How can she not see how beautiful she is.
"K-Kaoru?" She stuttered, causing me to back up slightly. "Y-yeah, (y/n)?" Crap, why did I stutter to0?!
"Uhm, I just wanted to thank you, for letting me meet your friends, and actually being one of those partners who does their share of the work." She placed her small hand over her mouth as she lightly giggled. I smiled, nodding.
"Hey, I care about my grades, too."
We pulled up to a fairly decent sized mansion, (y/n's) driver stepped out, letting us out and walking us to the door. "I'll be in my room, Hunter." She smiled to him as he bowed. We walked inside, she led me upstairs to her bedroom. It was pretty simple. A closet, bed, computer desk with laptop and a bookshelf, But that was it. No television or anything. Nothing fun.
"I'm sorry for my room being so boring, mother likes me to keep focused on my studies." I nodded, taking a seat at the chair at her desk. I've noticed, everything she says about her mother, it was never anything nice. Like, she wasn't bad mouthing her, just not nice how her mother treats her.
"Hey, (y/n)? Where's your dad?" I quickly realized my thoughts slipped my mouth, when her expression grew sad, and she sat on her bed. "I guess you were bound to ask." She sighed. I shook my head, standing up and grabbing her shoulders.
"No wait I didn't mean for it to slip out like that, I wasn't trying to be rude you don't need to talk about it if you don't want to."
She gave me a soft smile, and pulled my arm so I was sitting down beside her.
"He's not dead, if that's what you're thinking." My breath hitches a little, surprised as she seemed to read my thoughts.
"He left, when I was 5. Because I was the first born of the (l/n), and he didn't want to hand his company down to a girl. He wanted a son to take over, and my mother was unable to provide that. She grew infertile after I was born, and this enraged him and caused him to leave."
Her smile fell, and it's like I saw how she really felt. How she always feels.
"Does it bother you to know, Kaoru, that once we graduate, I won't inherit anything. I'll be a commoner." She turned to me, her eyes bearing deep into mine. But, her smile returned.
"I hope not, I'm sure once this project is done, you'll continue on like you have been." She stood up, mumbling to herself. I guess hoping I wouldn't hear, but I did."You'll leave like everyone else."
~(y/n's) POV~
I didn't mean to go that far. It slipped out. I've never spoke to anyone about my troubles before. Why him? Why now? I took a deep breath as I glanced over to the red head, putting on my smile. "But enough about me, I have an idea for our project!"
Kaoru's pitiful face turned into one of curiosity as I pulled a folder from my bag, and opened it to reveal different pictures of outfits. "I figured we could do fashion through time of Japan. Maybe your mother would help us make the costumes? We could wear them in class and have the other students try them too."
"That's, I like that. I'll call her right away." He pulled out his phone and began to leave, but he stopped when he noticed a framed picture on my desk. I furrowed my brows as I looked to the picture, then felt my heart quicken.
It was a photo of my best friend, Kairi Suzumoto and I in middle school, when we went on a trip to America.
(Kairi is my OC for OHSHC, whoops :3 ~)
"(Y/n)?"
"Y-Yes?"
"I think I remember you now."(Uh oh! What does he remember? Where is Kairi? Find out next chapter~ thank you for reading!)
