~(y/n's) POV~
The last week with Kaoru had been great. Our project was near complete, we just needed to finish writing the written part of the assignment. So here we were, sitting in my bedroom on my laptop, figuring out all of what we should say. We were about half way through, when my stomach decided it was time to eat.
"Wanna take a break? We've been at this for a few hours, I think we deserve some lunch." Kaoru smiled, and nodded in agreement. So, we made our way downstairs to the kitchen, and I tied an apron around my waist, and looked over to see a confused Kaoru. "I know you said you don't like to overwork your maids, but every time I've been here youve never asked a thing from them." I nodded.
"I told you, I like to be self sufficient. When I graduate, not like I'll have maids anyways." This seemed to cause him to frown, remembering what I had told him last weekend.
But, then he put on his own apron. "Teach me, then."
"Huh?"
"How to cook. I wanna learn." He smiled to me, and I grinned, bumping him with my hip. "It's not exactly something you learn over night, but I'll try."So there we were, all the needed ingredients on the counters as I told him what to get and what to measure. He happily obliged to each order, a mistake here and there.
"Crack the egg and put it into the bowl, please." I turned around to stir my soup, when I heard a loud smack. I turned back to see a distraught Kaoru, with egg yolk all over his hand and face.
I held back the laugh as he glared at me, pointing an accusing finger. "Don't you dare."
Oh no.
"(Y/n)."
I won't laugh.
"Don't."
Crap. I huddled over, holding my stomach as all of my laughter bellowed out. He came over, grabbing my chin, and smearing egg onto my face.
"Hey!" I laughed, dunking my hand into the bowl of cake mix we were making, an evil glint in my eye as Kaoru made a run for it. I went after him, batter soaked hand, outstretched and slathering against his back. "Oh, you don't know what you've started, (l/n)." His face became mischievous, as he grabbed the bowl of batter, and managed to hold an entire glob in his hand.
"You better not, Kaoru." He laughed, and threw his hand on top of my head, causing me the shriek as the glob went down my back.
"Cold! Cold, cold!"
That's when I grabbed the whole bowl, and just splattered it across him, causing the red head to yelp.
"That's cheating!" He laughed.
So, there we sat, covered in cake batter, huffing from running around the kitchen. Our clothes were ruined, but that's okay.
"I can't believe the crime you did to that egg."
"It patronized me."
I snorted as I held back the laugh, quickly covering my face and blushing. Kaoru gasped, grabbing my hands and pulling them away from my red face, at least of what you could see of it.
"Stop! Don't look at me, that was weird!" I turned my face away, as I heard him chuckle. "No, it was pretty cute."
My eyes widened, my face becoming redder, if even possible.
"I like that you aren't fake around me, or try to impress me all the time. You're you, and you aren't perfect, and I really-"
"Miss (l/n), your mother will be here in an hour." Hunter chimed in, looking at the mess. I gasped, standing up and began to clean, Kaoru and hunter joined in, luckily getting everything done with time to spare. I let Kaoru shower quickly, but sadly had to force him to leave, as mother would hate to see me with a boy over.
I cleaned myself up, and readied for her arrival. I sighed, rubbing my cheeks that reddened at the thought of earlier, but the feeling passed when I heard my mother screech my name.
"Coming." I hollered, making my way downstairs.
"(Y/n), I'm going to have you move in with you're cousin. She's back in town, and I just can't deal with this stress anymore. You're aunt had agreed to take you in."
I stood there in shock. I didn't know whether to be happy or sad. Mad maybe? I felt kind of, empty. Both of my parents truly didn't want me. I was being passed around like trash.
"Yes, mother." I responded, and went to my room to begin packing, when I got a phone call.
"Hello?"
"(Y/n)! What are you doing tomorrow?" It was Tamaki.
"It's Sunday right? Nothing really." I sat in my bed, laying back and twirling some of my hairs.
"Wanna go with us to the beach? The last time we came got out of hand so we want to return, just the hosts this time, you'll be the only girl, aside from Haruhi."
"Hm, I don't see why not." I smiled, growing excited for the trip.
"We will pick you up tonight and stay at Kyoyas beach house, is that okay."
"Yes." I'll have to give an excuse to mother. I'm sure hunter will cover for me.
"Then it's settled, see you in a few hours, (y/n)!"(Short chapter, and I know the beach thing is cliché, but I loved that episode. The next chapter will be longer!
Thanks for reading!)
