~third person POV ~
"Daddy look! I made you a drawing!" The six year old (y/n) ran up to her father, displaying a piece of paper with a drawing of her family on it.
The man just sighed, taking the drawing and putting it into his suitcase.
"Daddy, why do you look so sad?"
"Listen, (Y/n), I love you very much."
"Tsk." (Y/n)'s mother scoffed from the doorway, making her way in and finding the drawing, taking it and ripping it apart.
"M-mommy! I made that for daddy!" (Y/n) cried out, kneeling down and grabbing the pieces.
"Why don't you go ahead and tell her." She spat out towards her father, who only sighed. That's when little (y/n) noticed the suitcases, and her frown grew. "Daddy?"
"I-" he glared towards her mother, a look of desperation in his eyes. She only shook her head, and turned her back.
"I'm leaving, (Y/n)." He stated simply.
"Oh, where are we going?"
"No, I don't want you." His voice cracked, but he stayed stern.
"I'm not coming back. I won't see you again. I...I'm going to go find a new family."
"Daddy wait no! Please!" The girl cried out, hugging onto her fathers leg. Her mother roughly grabbed her up, shushing the crying child as they watched him leave.
"This is your fault. All your fault."
"(Y/n)?"
"All your fault!"
"(Y/n!)"
"Huh?!"-(y/n's) POV-
I quickly jolted up, panting as I looked around. I felt beads of sweat pour down my forehead as I saw a pair of brown eyes bearing into me. "H-Haruhi?"
"You were screaming in your sleep, are you okay?" Her eyes grew sympathetic as I hugged my knees, and nodded. She sighed, rubbing small circles into my back and just waited patiently for me to calm down. I really appreciated that she didn't force me to talk, it meant a lot.
After a few minutes, I uncurled myself and took a deep breath.
"Wanna go for a swim?" She suggested, smiling as I nodded eagerly.
"I'd love to!"
With that, I hopped out of bed and grabbed my swimsuit, walking into the bathroom and quickly changing. I shoved in my contacts and pulled my hair up into a ponytail, then slipped on some flip flops and a bathing suit cover.
I met Haruhi in the hallway where she was wearing an oversized hoodie to cover her own swimsuit.
I looked at the clock and noticed it was still pretty early, so hopefully none of the guys were up and we could swim without any interruptions.
"I just checked, they're all still asleep so let's be quiet." Haruhi whispered, and I nodded, slowly making our way to the front door, but then bolting to the shore.
Haruhi had brought an umbrella and towels, setting up a little area for us to rest when we weren't swimming. We simultaneously pulled off our covers, me wearing a two piece white pink and blue feather designed swim suit (pictured above), and Haruhi in a cute pink one piece. We made our way to the water, and quickly went in, relaxing at the cool, but warm ocean.
It felt amazing. It felt like hours that we floated around and relaxed. We would speak aimlessly about nothing at all. Laughing about antics of the host club. We splashed around like we had no worries for the moment.
"Hey, (Y/n)?"
"Hm?" I looked over at the brunette who was swimming closer to me, looking around as if to make sure nobody was around.
"It's a little personal, but do you like Kaoru?"
"Eh?!" I choked on my own breath as she asked, causing me to cough. She laughed a bit as she patted my back, helping me back to breathing correctly.
"Why on earth would you ask that?"
"The way you look at him, the way you speak to him compared to the rest. The way how when we were driving up here, you would just stare at him."
"T-those are all just coincidences!" My face heated up and I held my cheeks. I don't like Kaoru, do I? I mean...I've never thought of him in that way since middle school. But, I don't want him to break my heart again. I wouldn't be able to bear it now that we are actually friends.
"It's okay if you do."
"You don't understand, it's not okay. If I did, he'd break my heart worse than last time."
"Last time?"
I sighed, and told her. How I've always admired the red head. How I longed to know him. How I tried to know him through small conversations and trying to listen in on when they would address each other so it would be easier to tell them apart.
How I confessed, and they tried to trick me.
"I see, I understand now." Haruhi looked at me sadly, and I just shook my head.
"I'm glad to be friends with him now. I finally got that chance to get to know him." I smiled, laying back and letting my body float on the waters surface.
"Even so, if you did like him again, it wouldn't be the end of the world. What if he liked you too?"
"With the way he acts with you? Doubtful." I frowned, trying to to seem like I was jealous. I wasn't, but it still sucked.
"He treats me like a toy, they both do and it's annoying."
At this point we laughed. "Yeah, I can see where that can be aggravating."
We sat in silence for a moment, until I stood back up and stretched. "I think I'm ready for some breakfast, wanna help me cook and surprise those idiots?"
"Oh I guess." She smiled, and we made our way to shore, wrapping up in our towels and heading back to the beach house.
Surprisingly, the boys were still asleep, so we quickly made our way to our rooms and threw on some clothes.
