Do you guys want another hint on the rival guessing thing? Well here it is: their possible starter pokémon in the game can't be a Squirtle.

The very moment that he was able to see again, Gladion immediately started searching for (y/n). Lillie was there, Sun was there with Solgaleo, Hau was there, Silvally was there, and even Lunala was there but (y/n) was nowhere to be found. Rei was not even there.

"Huh? Hey, what happened? I thought we were at the Alter of the Moon," Lillie said in confusion. Gladion could not answer. He was still in disbelief about what had just happened. The Aether workers were just as confused as they recovered as well.

"Gladion, Lillie! Are you two alright? What happened in here?" Lusamine said as she also appeared. When Gladion saw his mother, especially after the conversation they'd just had, he was able to gather his thoughts. "She's gone," Gladion muttered.

"What do you mean she's gone? Who's..." Lusamine was saying but then she stopped speaking once she'd scanned the area and realized what Gladion meant.

"(Y/n) is gone. She disappeared," Gladion said more to tell himself what had happened because he still didn't want to believe it. Lusamine sat next to Gladion who kept staring at the ground in shock and pulled him into a hug that he couldn't pull away from even if he wanted to.

"Miss Lusamine, do you know what's going on right now?" Hau asked from where he was on the floor. He had been unconcious all the while up until that point.

"I know what happened but you guys aren't going to like it," Sun said. His voice displayed sadness and his expression was solemn.

"Can you explain it in my office. I don't want everyone to hear this. It could cause panic," Lusamine. Sun nodded as he helped Lillie and Hau up. Solgaleo was sent back to Sun's pokéball but Lunala had no pokéball.

(Y/n) didn't believe in restricting Lunala's cosmic power and interdimentional travel by keeping her her in a pokéball. Lunala was quite close to fainting at the moment and was barely able to stay aloof in the air without occasionally swaying.

Gladion had a question for that pokémon so he pried free of his mother's hug that he didn't necessarily want anyway and made his way over to Lunala.

"Can you still sense her? Do you know where they went?" Gladion asked the legendary cosmic pokémon but Lunala did not answer.

"Lunala, please, I need to know. Where is she? Where is (y/n)?" Gladion asked and again Lunala gave no answer.

"She's not here?" Lillie asked, still oblivious to the events that just took place. She had also been unconcious up until that point.

"She took Moon through an ultra wormhole. Lunala wasn't with her and the other Necrozma closed it. Without Solgaleo or Lunala with her...(y/n)...there's a chance that she won't..." Sun was saying.

"She will come back. She has to," Gladion said before Sun could finish. He didn't want to hear anything that had to do with her not returning.

"Gladion, we don't even know where they could habe gone. Even if Lunala or Solgaleo were to open another ultra wormhole in the same spot, they still wouldn't be able to find her location. And without Lunala or Solgaleo to protect her like they usually do when she travels through ultra wormholes, (y/n) has the highest risk of being harmed simply by drifting into another open wormhole."

"I get that you're in shock right now but you need to start thinking realistically. If you want to save her then you have to think of everything that could possibly happen," Sun said.

Gladion had half a mind to lash out on him but the other half, which he listened to, told him to walk away from everything and everyone.

"Gladion, where are you going?" Lillie called after him. Of course she was worried but Gladion didn't really want to speak to his sister at the moment. She was at least safe.

"Let him go, Lillie. He needs time," Gladion heard his mother say. He didn't care whether or not Sun was right and he didn't care if what his mother had said was right or not. All he cared about at the moment was getting (y/n) back. She was important to him and she didn't even know it. He headed to the elevator and once he got there, he took it down to the lab area.

Surely, (y/n) had some sort of data on ultra wormholes that could tell him that she was going to be okay and she could be safely brought back. He had been so focused on his objective that he hadn't noticed that Silvally had been following him, not that he minded anyway.

(Y/n)'s lab door was open so Gladion just went right in. He was expecting her computer to be locked as well but it wasn't which made him wonder what she had been doing before she disappeared because on the screen was a file labeled: Ultra wormhole reports. What can be done and what can't be done when traveling in ultraspace.

Gladion was indeed curious and although he didn't really want to look through (y/n)'s computer even if he had already planned to do so, he couldn't help but open the folder containing the reports.

He would watch the videos with the corresponding titles later. A particular file caught his interest and he opened the document containing the report: Neroza Ultraspace Travel Theories 1.

Today I was finally able to get some information about ultra wormhole travel. I will explain this first bit of information that I got with Lunala's help. I have been traveling quite dangerously through ultraspace according to what I've learned. Even with Lunala there to keep me from being too affected by ultraspace travel, there are still other affects that can occur over time. I learned today that these affects can completely disappear if I form a mental bond with a psychic type pokémon...

"What have you been researching without me knowing?" he asked although (y/n) wasn't there to hear him. He couldn't believe it. (Y/n) had gone from being a pokémon caretaker to a pokémon researcher to a pokémon ultra wormhole travel expert and it scared Gladion.

He didn't exactly know that (y/n) had been researching to this extent for it had been a detail that she'd left out of her already detailed letters to him, the very letters that made him fall for her. Again, Lusamine's words rang through his head.

"I'm not you mother, I'll never be you. I'll save her," Gladion said to himself as he left the lab. He would need to cancel his trip back to the Kanto region because he was going to stay in Alola until he found (y/n) and that was a promise.
