Only Mine

The truth

Sanyukta stood stunned for a moment on hearing his question en wondered how come he noticed such a small thing of her ,but nevertheless made a stern face before replying him.

"none of your business shekhawat."

Randhir heard her curt voice,and then she disappeared through the hall with hurried steps.

"thik se baat karne ke layak hi nahi hai ye chipkali.per ye ro kyun rahi thi.?"

He asked to himself scratching his nape,en the next moment shook his head.

"mujhe kya.? Huh."

Three days passed by and sanyukta remained disturbed all the time ,unable to wash off the uncomfortable feelings from her mind.

She tried telling Sanaya about the truth a few times,but failed everytime seeing her happy and contained while discussing about her father.

Finally Sunday arrived bringing the challenge day along with it ,making the whole college buzz;since all were eagerly waiting to see the two arch enemies compete.

"oye Sunday ko taiyar hoke kahan jaa rahi hai ? vo bhi itni subah subah.?"

Sanaya heard a girl asking to another girl in the hostel washroom ;where she was brushing her teeth.

"tujhe ni pata? Sab lab jaa rahe hain."

A 3rd girl replied ,making the other girl curious.

"kyun? Kya ho raha hai lab me.?"

"arey Randhir aur sanyukta ke bich competition hone wala hai ,tujhe pata nahi? Subah se yo yo ,sahil aur sab pure college me Randhir ko cheer kar rahe hain.mai bhi jaa rahi hun Randhir ko cheer karne."

The girl grinned.

"tujhe kya lagta hai ? tu cheer karegi toh kya Randhir tumhe notice karega.?"

"Arey kyun nahi ? kya pata karle? Umeed pet oh duniya kayam hai."

The rest of their conversation went unheard to Sanaya,since her mind was stuck at a particular word they had uttered few secs ago.

Competition.

Shit. How could she forget about it ? and more over she was cent percent sure even sanyukta doesn't remember about it.

How could she forget about it?

Without wasting another sec she quickly washed off her face en literally ran towards the hostel room.

Sanyukta was seated on the bed working over some sums ,when the door of the room was pushed open not so smoothly ,making her look up to see who intrude her peace,until her gaze fell on sanaya hopping for her breathe looking like a mess.

"sanaya kya hua tu..."

"oye aaj Sunday hai."

Sanaya said interrupting her in between and watched sanyukta eyeing her more confusingly.

"toh.?"

"toh? Tu bhul gayi aaj tera aur randhir ka competition hai lab me? Vo toh achha hua washroom me ladkiyan baat kar rahin thi aur mujhe yaad aagaya.tu bhi bhul gayi.?"

It took few secs for sanyukta to understand sanaya's words ,then it her.

The challenge.

She had agreed with Randhir for a challenge on Sunday and the day was today.

How come it slipped out of her mind?

Probably because of her mind was too much occupied with past events that she couldn't focus on the present.
