HUNTER

I was talking with all my old friends and trying to think up of a plan in how to take Maurice down for good without him finding out. Then I got a text from Carrie and as soon as I looked at what it said, I right away texted her back to tell me where she was at and the moment she told me, I grabbed my keys, told the guys I'd talk to them later and that it was an emergency.

The moment I parked out front of Denny's, I quickly walked inside and started looking all over until I spotted both Carrie and Bessie. With a sigh of relief after seeing them sitting down and eating, I started making my way over towards them and not not too long after Bessie saw me walking towards them did she run up to me and wrapped her arms and legs around me as I picked her up and held her tightly in my arms and started kissing her head.

"Daddy, I want to go home." Bessie says.

"I know sweetie, we will." I assure her.

I see Carrie walk up towards me after leaving some money on the table and we kiss each other before making our way out of the place.

While on our way home, we noticed that halfway there, Bessie was already passed out in the backseat.

"I don't know if I can do this." She begins to tell me.

"What do you mean?" I asked while trying not to make it obvious at how worried I was to hear her next words.

"With what all just happened, I'm not sure I can pull this off in keeping business with Maurice. Especially since he sent someone to try and scare us."

"What guys?" I asked.

"I don't know. I mean, he said he knew who you and that if you didn't bring him Maurice then he would make sure to hurt me and Bessie while you watched." She started to cry during the last part.

"That won't happen. I'll make sure of it." I promise her as I grip the wheel a little tighter.

"You can't guarantee that." She tells me while wiping a few tears from her eyes.

"I can. But I do need to know what the guy who tried to hurt you both tonight, I need to know what he looked like."

"He had a buzzed head, tanned and it looked like there was a tattoo on the top of his hand." She describes.

"Did you see what the tattoo was of?"

"It looked like a skull with a snake coming out of it's eyes and mouth."

"Skullz." I say under my breath.

"So you know who that is?" She asks me.

"Unfortunately. I cut ties with him a few months before you and I met each other and got together." I began to explain.

"So why the hell has he come back to have you help bring Maurice to him?" She asks sounding worried.

"He doesn't want just him. It's a trap. He wants me too." I confess.

"What do you mean?"

"One year before I decided to take the whole thing in coming to try and get dirt on you, both him, me and Maurice did a deal with him and things of course went bad after Skullz decided to do his own thing instead of sticking to the plan. All three of us almost were killed because he went against the script." I explain.

I didn't hear her say anything for the rest of the ride home. Even after pulling into the driveway and after putting Bessie down to sleep. The silence was killing me and then finally, we went into our room and she began to tell me how she felt about everything.

"All that I care about right now is to not have our daughter growing up terrorized and living in fear that someone is out to get her and both her parents." She confesses.

"I know. I don't want that either." I promise her.

"Then I think tomorrow we'll need to think up of a plan. Because I don't want a repeat of what happened a few hours ago."

"Me neither. And I'll make sure it wont." I tell her.

She just nods her head and then gives me a kiss before getting ready to take a shower as I call up the guys and tell them to meet us tomorrow to come up with a plan.

No matter what I will protect my family. No matter what the cost is, including if it's my life.
