I guess Leah is the humorous one in this group. I love it. You can tell when she's sarcastic and mean but not in a way that'll hurt you. Unless you're that dumb and can't take jokes.
I'm sitting right next to Leah and we're pretty close to each other because it's cold, I didn't bring a sweater and the warm cozy fire is comforting by her.
All of us were talking about the most random shit. But then we brought up the plan about the weekend get away. We're going more towards the idea of staying at a cabin up in the mountains where it's snowing since the weather is getting colder. Literally the only place that has snow in California. The cabins are gorgeous. I've been to a similar sight but this time me and the girls are planning to go to mammoth mountain. A popular snow sight. They have lots of activities to do along with other people who stay up in the mountains too for a short vacation.
The cabins have gorgeous cozy rooms. Actually the whole cabin is cozy. It's covered with shiny wood and then there's also a fireplace but that's surrounded by stone. It'd be so fun with the girls this time. And Leah seems like she's going too so I'm excited for that. And I know we might have to end up sharing a bed with someone. I hope that's me and Leah.
Anyways this dinner is going as good as I wanted. I feel more comfortable talking to leah. I don't know why we barely met recently when I've seen her sooo many times for about 2 years but from time to time. Just at parties and shit. But after we met we clicked instantly. Either because we could become good friends or maybe because she's gay and likes me. I think she likes me at least.
We finished up our dinner then got dessert. I ordered this ice cream covered in chocolate syrup. Leah got a brownie topped with a scoop of ice cream. That's all I paid attention to.
"Mmm" she mumbles while focusing on eating her dessert. I leaned a bit towards her and rested my chin on her shoulder. Just tryna be cute so I could get a scoop. "Can I try?" I ask her sweetly. She smiles a bit and pushes her dessert tray towards me and I sit back up and take a scoop.
"Fuck" I mumbled after eating it and took another scoop. "I-" she pauses and snatches her tray back. I smile hard but tried not showing my teeth since I felt like chocolate was on it.
"Jennifer stays taking people's food but gets so mad when people take her food" Tori says. "Shut up! I do not" I said. "You do too!" Brooklyn says. My jaw drops and I look at Leah. She's just smiling even more.
"Don't believe them" I said to Leah and rolled my eyes. "Says the one who ate my food earlier at the beach" she says. I shake my head and started to eat my ice cream again. Everyone just wants to go against me tonight huh.
Later Leah goes on her phone. I glanced at her for a bit and noticed that she received a long message but I'm minding my own business.
The check came and we all got split bills. Camila passed over mine and Leahs check. I got mine but Leah didn't even look at her check. Instead she started to bite her nail as she read the message.
Once the server came back to pick up the money she still didn't even get her money out.
"Leah is everything okay?" I ask her. "I-well..I gotta go back to the hospital right now. If you guys plan to go anywhere after this.. can you just drop me off at home right now?" She asks me. "Oh sure. That's no problem!" I tell her. "Thanks" she sighs and puts her phone down. I'm kinda worried. Did she receive bad news about her cousin? Suddenly she's sad.
"I could pay for you if you want" I offer. "Huh?" "For the food" I said. "Oh- Wait.. you guys paid??" She asks. She's so out of it suddenly.
"Yeah" I said. "Shit. Um yeah- no- I'll pay for it but thanks" She says quickly and gets her wallet out.
