I was sitting on the couch cuddling with Soda. We had been dating for about 2 months now but things haven’t gotten to serious yet. I scooted closer to him and laid my head on his chest. I hummed softly.

“You comfortable?” Soda asked.

“Mhm.” Soda kisses the top of my head making me smile.

We stayed like that for awhile. We had the whole house to ourselves. All the boys where at work or school. Dally was at his place because he has a hangover. I haven’t known the boys too long. I met them when I started dating Soda.

I’ve known Soda for a while, though. We went to school together so I seen him a lot. We’ve been partners for projects before but it didn’t really seem like he was into me. But one day he asked me out on a date and asked me to be his girlfriend.

I find it weird that he asked me. There are lots of girls who are prettier than me and they are practically swarming Soda all the time. I always see a bunch of girls at the DX talking to him and laughing every time he speaks.

I heard a car pull up. I assumed it was one of the boys. They should still be at school but it wouldn’t surprise me if Two-Bit skipped. Soda must not have thought anything about it either until he heard a knock on the door. “Who could that be? No one ever knocks.”

He got up and opened opened the door. His face went from happy to confused. “Sandy? What are you doing here?”

“I came to see you.”

“Really, I thought you didn’t want anything to do with me.”

“That’s not true... I just—I just...”

“You just what?” Soda was angry. What did this girl do to him?

“I just didn’t want you to be mad.”

“Oh so you didn’t want me to mad about you cheating on me! That you were pregnant with another mans baby! You know, I wanted to marry you! Even when I did find out, I would have still married you! I would have taken that baby! I loved you! But you never loved me.”

He turned and looked at me. He walked over to me and put his arm around my waist. “But that’s okay. I got someone better now.”

“After I came all this way to get you back and to ask you to forgive me, you choose her over me? I bet I’ve known you longer than she has.”

“Maybe you have, but people change Sandy.”

She growled and flipped us off before walking out the door. Soda turned to face me. “Sorry about her, (Y/N). I didn’t know she was coming.”

“It’s fine. I’m sorry that you had to put up with her.”

He chuckled. “She never was like that before. She was nice, but when her parents found out they sent her to Florida to live with her grandparents.”

“Did you really mean that? That you would have married her?”

“I was going to. But her parents didn’t like the idea of her marrying a 17 year old kid.” He must have really loved her if he wanted to get married at young age. “I’m glad I didn’t have to marry her.”

That shocked me. He clearly loved her. But then again, she did cheat on him. I can see why. “You are?”

“Mhm. Ya know why?”

I wanted to say: “Because she cheated on you.” or “Because she got pregnant.” Or something like that. But I didn’t because I didn’t want to be mean. Instead I just asked “Why?”

“Because I never would have met you. I never would have asked you out. I don’t know why I didn’t think of asking you out sooner. Your beautiful, amazing, super nice. I could go on and on but we would be hear all night...” I was smiling like crazy and my face was probably as red as a tomato. “I love you.” He said with a smile.

“I love you, too.”

That was our first I love you.
