"You can't date that hood!" Your Mom yelled. She didn't like greasers. Well, she didn't have a problem with some of them, but the ones like Dallas Winston didn't appeal to her. Especially if a hood like him was dating her daughter.
"Why not? You don't even know him Mom!" You just told your Mom that you've been dating the baddest hood in town for 3 months and she didn't like it.
"That boy has been in jail and has a criminal record a mile long. Almost everyone knows that!" She had a point. Everyone knew about Dallas Winston. But not the way you do. He has a nicer side to him. He was known for dating girls just for the fun of it, but he met you and that changed. Or so he told you.
"Well maybe if you'd get to know him, you'd see he's not all that bad," You said before storming out of the house. You began to walk to Dally's place. Dally has gotten better about drinking since he's met you. Although he still hangs out at Buck's.
You walked up the steps of his front porch. You knocked on the door; after a moment it finally opened. "(Y/N)," I was greeted with Dally's voice. "What are you doing here?"
"I told my parents about us...they don't approve." You looked up from your shoes and stared him in the eyes. "Dally, what are we going to do?"
"I don't know. We'll think of something. Come on in." He gestured you inside. You followed him in and sat on the couch.
"Like what?"
"I don't know. Are you going to stay here tonight?"
You thought about it for a moment. "I don't know. That might make things worse."
"Alright, babe. Do whatever you want," He said. You smiled and laid your head on his shoulder. You were glad to have him in your life, even if people disapprove of you two. You didn't care what they thought, as long as you had him you were okay.
After awhile you decided to head home, hoping your parents would be cooled off by now. Dally offered to drive you but you insisted on walking. It would give you time to think things over more.
"Where have you been? Out with your boyfriend?" Your Dad asked when you walked through the door.
You shut the door, not looking away from him. "He's not a bad guy, Dad."
"So the hood isn't a bad guy? That's a first." You rolled your eyes and walked into your room. You were tired of your parents treating you like this. They had approved of every other guy you've dated, but Dally is not an exception.
You figured your parents would never except him unless you really tried hard to make them. Invite him over? Do something to help smooth things over. Running off was no option. It would only fuel their hatred for the boy even more.
You stood up and walked out of your room to face your parents. "Mom. Dad. I have an idea." They stared at you with that stern, determined look. "How about I invite him over for dinner tonight or something? Show you he's not all that bad..."
Your parents gave each other skeptical glances. "One time. If we don't approve...then that's the last you see of that hood."
"O-okay." You walked back in your room, nervous as ever. If this dinner went south, then it was all over. You didn't want to think about it, but the thought plagued you.
You called Dally and told him what you had planned. You told him that he had to be presentable, although you had no clue if he'd go all out. He once told you he'd do anything for you, and you hoped he'd keep that promise.
That night he came to dinner dressed decently and acted nicely. But it wasn't that that made your parents like him. They seen the way he treated you, and they kept thinking about all you told them that day. He treated you better than other guy you've ever dated, they could see that. For you to keep the secret about him this long he had to. So your parents approved of Dallas Winston, and you couldn't be more happier.
