Prologue:

Caitlyn and I have been friends since the seventh grade; we’ll be seniors this year, so that’s like, five years that we’ve known each other. I remember when I first met her…

**Flashback**

“Today, we have a new student to Scripps that will be joining our 3rd hour science class. Her name is Caitlyn Foxx!” My teacher says while putting a hand on a pretty girl’s shoulder that stands next to her.

Caitlyn has beautiful brown hair and bright blue eyes. From that moment I knew that the popular girls would take her in to their little ‘click’ just because she was drop-dead gorgeous. That made me not like her one bit and she hasn’t said one word. The teacher shows her to her seat, which is right next to mine. Great, just great. She sits down and puts her stuff on her desk. Mrs. Marcoo wants me to help her until she gets caught up with us. Thank you Mrs. Marcoo thanks a lot. I feel Caitlyn girl poke me in my arm pulling me out of my day dream. I look at her and she smiles.

“What’s your name?” She asks. Her voice is sweet and she is nice enough to want to know her name.

“Maddie.” I reply. “Maddie Florez.” I smile back. I guess I can get used to her, I mean she’s not THAT bad.

**End of Flash Back**

I can’t believe I didn’t like her at first. What the heck was wrong with me? I couldn’t ask for a better best friend. She’s always been there for me, no matter what. Since then we have hung out every weekend and in the summer, almost every day. Then that’s when we started to make the YouTube videos. First it was just us being our stupid selves, and we got a little over 50 views, which wasn’t that bad. Then we started giving our opinions of things going on in the world and then we were singing. Our first song that we sang that we put up on YouTube was Enchanted by Taylor Swift. It was one of Caitlyn and I’s favorite song. As we started getting more views, people started requesting songs and we would sing it for them, but mostly it was One Direction songs. We posted What Makes You Beautiful and it got over 20,000 views and positive comments. The more songs we did by them, the more popular we became. Me and Caitlyn were die-hard directioners so we had no problem with singing their songs, and it was a lot of fun. The most viewed song that we did by One Direction was One Thing; we got over 2,000,000 views on just that song. It was unbelievable. I would have never thought we would go further in life as singers, until now.
