Courtney
Will twitches as if he doesn't want to believe it. "No! That's not true!" he shouts. "You fell in the river, then dad left us!"
"Dad didn't leave," I say. "Mom did. She couldn't handle the stress. You left right after her."
He blinks. His entire form trembles. I can almost see the memories surge back in his head. WIll looks confused, then upset, then angry. He snarls. "Shut up! You're lying! I'll kill you!" Will charges towards dad. I'm faster than him. I always have been. I hit him hard. Will crashes to the ground, still holding the knife.
"Come on, then!" I shout. I walk towards him as he stands up. He tries to hit me, but I block it and punch him in the stomach.
He stares at me like I betrayed him. "Courtney!" I glance back at Henry, who looks mortified.
"Stay back." By the time I turn back around, Will's halfway down the stairs. I move to follow him, but Henry puts a hand on my shoulder. "Forget him."
It's not over.
