I knew it. I knew it, I knew it, I knew it.

I knew what it meant when I first saw it. It had been years, but I hadn't forgotten what I'd been told. When the lights were on again, I'd come home. But I didn't think he'd be here too. I saw him go up the path. Lord only knows what he's going to do, but I have to stop him. I can't fail now. I can't.

There are too many cops around the front. I go around the back. For a second, I think someone sees me, but I don't know. I hear voices on the front porch, so I sneak up the steps and go to the back door. I pray they don't hear me.

As I pull the door open, the voices stop. "Who's there?"

They heard me. I slam the door shut. It's now or never. I can't fail now.
