I winced at the aching in my thighs as I sat beside him in the car, he turned on the engine and sound of classical music resumed from his previous usage.
"You listen to this?" I spoke simpering broadly, the Stoic tough guy listened to violins and opera, He didn't even respond but give me a disgruntled Glance.
I watched the city outside the window and I felt a twinge in my heart, "I probably shouldn't go back" I whispered and the music turned off.
"Why?" He said it so sharply like it pained him to hear me say that as well as me having to state it.
"I am no hero material" I responded gripping onto my pants tightly, "Tch" I whipped my head to see him stopped at a red light, "I'm serious Aizawa" I snapped and his eyes darted to me, "So am I".
"I killed my father-" I began but my voice cracked, "You don't have to justify yourself over your own insecurities, You have been missing for months. Every night I would look for you, here you are unharmed. I'd say surviving in such harsh conditions and still being kind and smiling has proved yourself worthy of being a hero. So perhaps others don't have to experience what you did" And with that one of his hands unhinged itself from the wheel and was placed on my thigh, "If you give up you're letting those months defeat you".
'Oh Aizawa... I'm so grateful for you loving a worthless piece of shit like me' I thought to myself as I placed my hand on top of his.
"It will take time, But I'm sure I'll return to my old self" I smiled wiping a single tear that had slipped from my eyes, "Even if you don't, I'll still be here" He muttered pulling into the school.
I stepped out of the car and was instantly the center of attention, My father dropped his teacup and I saw his face scrunch up as if holding back tears.
"Dad" I whispered dropping my bag and running over to him, I instantly knelt in front of him and he wrapped his paws around me.
"My sweet rei" He muttered into my ear and I hugged him tighter, "I am so sorry" I replied crying into his fur. "It's quite alright, as long as you're back now" He let me go and looked at me, "You look more rugged" He smirked politely and I wiped my face and smiled back.
I noticed him eyeing my hair, "It will grow back" I said seizing onto the bit of hair I had left. "And prettier than ever" he patted my head and I stood up, "Tea time after school, bring Aizawa. We have much to discuss".
I walked alongside Aizawa and Nezu into the building where I was tackled by Midnight, "Rei!!" Present mic yelled.
I hugged midnight tightly and I smiled into her shoulder, I locked eye contact with Aizawa who was standing in the corner away from social interaction.
"I love you" I mouthed to him and his face turned a little red and he clicked his tongue and walked off to his class.
I was so happy to be back, I hated not being there to see the students grow up, I hated not having tea with my father, I hated not joking around with present mic and midnight.
Most importantly, I hated not having Aizawa in my arms, I loved him more than anything.
