Mates with the Enemy

CHAPTER TEN

Jia's POV:
Today was AMAZING!!! We went on sooo many rides! Me and Sophie forced Sean to go on all the scary rides with us, but sadly Michelle was too chicken.
I'm glad that we didn't run into those arrogant wolves again. The way they acted made me so mad, I'm glad that Elle and Soph were there to hold me back before I made a scene. Because I totally would've beaten the crap out of them if I had the chance.
We left the amusement park after dusk and right now we were driving back to the hotel. Felix was horribly singing along to the radio. There was something odd I noticed about Felix, he seemed really happy ever since he came back from his bathroom trip and he was practically bouncing in his seat out of excitement. We all noticed that he was being a bit different, we glanced at each other constantly throughout the day whenever he did something ecstatically. He still hadn't told anyone what had happened, so the suspense was killing me.
"Bro, spill." Elle said seriously after he had butchered most of my favourite songs with his ugly voice.
"What do you mean?" He glanced back at her with the rear view mirror.
"You're being weird." Sean answered. We all agreed with him.
"Am not!" He cried out. I reached forward and smacked him on the back of his head
"Are too!" I yelled back." have you seen yourself, you are practically bragging about something, so spill."

"Fine I will tell you guys but you have to promise me you won't tell anyone and swear to me as I am the Alpha to be." Felix says in a serious voice.

"wow this must be serious" Soph says sarcastically

"We promise Felix no matter how much we tease you we are your family." I say

"OK, I actually found ah.... my ..... mate." Felix is so quiet when he says this that if we didn't have our wolf hearing then we wouldn't have heard him.

"WHAT?!?!?!!?" We all yell at the same time. I smack him on the head again. Felix winces and smiles tentatively. Elle starts jumping up and down with excitement.

"I'm gonna have a sister-in-law!" She yells. Felix smiles big and Sean pats him on the back. Soph starts dancing in her seat and it seems like I'm the only sane person left. I look out the window, I am really happy for Felix and all but I have a gut feeling that there is trouble coming along. Before I can think deeper about it I hear Felix say something

"Huh, sorry what were you saying?" I ask.

"Wow its the biggest news of my life J and you aren't even content. Why is that?" Felix asks looking at me through the rear view mirror, hurt.

"No, NO I am super happy for you Felix I would never ever not be content for you, you are like my older brother. Its just that I can't shake the feeling that .... forget it." I say. Felix stared at me but I gave him a big reassuring smile.

"So when am I going to be an aunt huh?" I say teasingly. Felix blushes bright red and I laugh. He starts stuttering.

"W-w-wait a minute, we just only met!" He exclaims. We all erupt in laughter and his face is worth it. I shove the bad feeling down. I'll deal with that later. Right now is time to celebrate and I really hope that the Blue Moons Alpha didn't tell our Alpha about our "camping trip". Felix had told us how he had lied to his dad and I hope that he won't question us when we go home.

The rest of our trip goes by in a breeze and we have a blast. This must be the most fun I have had in ages and I feel free. I fell asleep during the ride though but what I dreamed about left me in shock. I saw the hazel eyed boy from the Blue Moon Pack. What was shocking was the fact that I felt a warm glow around him and he felt like my safe place. I jumped awake and felt disoriented. What the hell is wrong with me?!?! I slapped myself and growled. Okay he was cute and all but he was still a jerk from the Blue Moon pack. I looked around and saw Sean staring at me through the rear view mirror. Sometime while I was asleep he probably switched spots with Felix. I glared at him and whispered.

"Not one word about this, do you understand?" I hissed. He gave me a pointed look and nodded his head, staring ahead. I nodded too and lay back down. Slowly I drift asleep.

Sean POV:

I looked back at J and watched her as she falls back asleep. I wonder what that was all about. I sigh and continue driving. Today has been hectic with Felix finding his mate and the run in with the Blue Moon Pack. I am happy for Felix for finding his mate and all, but what really makes me sad is the fact that I still haven't found mine. Just looking at Felix and his happiness makes me crave to have one too. Sometimes I wonder what she'll be like and if she'll accept me or not. I shudder at the thought and my wolf whines. I shake the thought out of my mind. Not happening.

Finally after another 2 hours of hearing Felix snore and the girls giggling at the back, we reach the Alpha house. I shake Felix awake and he jolts awake, confused. I laugh at his face and he punches me on the arm. As we get out I notice the Alpha standing at the front step. I bow and so do Soph and J.

"Alpha." We all say. He nods at us and talks to Felix.

"I hope your camping trip went by well with no troubles." He asks. Felix nods, tight lipped. Then Alpha Midnight looks around to make sure no one was there and breaks out into a smile. Elle runs over and hugs him. He hugs her back and Soph and J join in. They laugh as they make up stories of what they did at "camp". Alpha Midnight laughs with them and gives Felix and me a nod. Alpha Midnight has to keep up appearances as a strict Alpha but around us he lets his serious facade drop and becomes himself. Luna Midnight changed him for the better and I'm glad for it. This is what a mate can do to you. We all walk inside and I grab the remote and settle into the couch. Soph jumps in beside me and steals the remote.

"HEY!" I exclaim.

"Sorry, no TV for you, you have future-Beta duties to attend." She points toward the Alpha and Felix and Alpha points towards the door where his Beta is standing to continue my training. Once Felix turns 22, he'll have the Alpha initiation ceremony and he'll take over most of the Alpha duties. When he turns 25, he'll officially be Alpha. The same applies to me but I don't have an initiation ceremony. All I have to do is give an oath.

I sigh and get up heading towards the Beta, ready to end our so called vacation.

Before I enter though, Felix stops me. He looks at his dad and asks if we can talk to him. Alpha nods and takes us to his office. We go there and Felix starts talking,

"Da- uh I mean Alpha, I have a request." Felix says, standing straight.

"Go on." Alpha replies, curious.

"Well, I found my mate while we were gone at our camping trip." Felix said. There he goes with another lie. Alpha Midnight's face lights up and he gives a genuine smile.

"That's great son. Congratulations! Question, what do you want me to do about it?"

"She's a human, Alpha." Felix mutters. I look at Felix. He didn't tell us that. I look towards the Alpha.

"That's not a problem, you'll just have to change her into a wolf, if she's willing." Alpha says, shrugging. Relief flashes over Felix's face and I think he still has more to say.

"Well, her dad has lost his job and her mom has a gambling problem. I was wondering if we can give her dad a job at our company?" Felix hesitates a little when he says this but the Alpha only smiles.

"Of course. I'm sure it's hard to be far from your mate anyways. I'll tell my assistant to call her dad and say that we want to interview him because we know he does great work." Alpha smiles and continues.

"When he comes we'll immediately give him a job and give him a house as a complimentary gift. The house will be close by so you can see her." Felix looks like he's about to cry. I'm sure that if his father wasn't the Alpha he would probably be hugging him right now.

"Thank you Alpha." Felix bows and I do too. The Alpha nods and asks if there is anything else. Felix shakes his head and we both walk out. Felix looks relieved and we fist bump.

"Well that went well." I say

"Yes! I am so happy." Felix smiles. I smile back and tell him that I have to get to the Beta. He laughs and tells me to focus and not still be in vacation mode. I laugh too and clap him on the back. I walk away and smile to myself. I just hope that this much laughter will be in our future...
