Sophia's POV
"What brings you here, oh big bad wolf?" I raised an eyebrow. Aaron instantly saw my challenging smirk and sneered. Clearly, he wasn't happy, and my teasing nature was only upsetting him further. He masked his frustration with a neutral but slightly intimidating expression and straightened his posture, probably to make himself seem a bit more domineering.
"I've come here to discuss our previous conversation," he was trying to keep his voice even, so that he wouldn't give away anything, but unfortunately for him, I could read him like an open book. He wanted to talk about the whole mate thing.
"Well, that's mighty unfortunate for you, because I've said everything I wished to say to you during our last meeting. And, knowing that you don't quite have the capacity to pick up on my very obvious hints, that means that it's only a matter of time before I stop speaking to you entirely. I'd like you to remember that there should be no goodwill between us, as kidnapper and prisoner." I simply wanted to ruffle his feathers, and I knew that he was smart enough to tell that I was basically calling him an idiot. And even though I'm not exactly holding the whole kidnapping thing against him, it's still quite fun to watch his face drop in realization that he's been treating his mate and her friends horribly all this time.
"You know, as my prisoner, you should be a lot more submissive if you don't wish to be tortured into obedience. What do you plan on achieving by antagonizing me?" Well, I've got to hand it to him; he's not entirely an idiot, but then again, I already knew that. Clearly, he thinks he'll be victorious in this battle of wits, but I haven't had this much fun in ages. There's no way I'm letting him beat me, and by letting him believe he has the upper hand, I'll emerge victorious. He has no idea what my hidden cards are.
"You are aware that I am the beta's daughter, Jia is the pack's lead warrior's daughter, and dear Elle is the daughter of our Alpha. Of course, normal werewolf dynamics place men in lead roles because their domineering nature makes good leaders-"
"You ramble too much, and you always speak off-topic. Do try to get to the point," he interrupted. Ugh, when will he learn?
"I'll have you know that everything I say is important. It would do you well to listen to me properly," I scolded. He narrowed his eyes at me, but I held his stare. I'm not going to let myself be intimidated by him.
"You've done quite enough of your analyzing and lecturing," he broke the silence, and I internally smirked. By breaking the silence, he was admitting defeat in our mini staring contest. "But," he continued, "now it's my turn to analyze you."
"Really now? Now this is gonna be interesting," I taunted in a nonchalant tone, "do go on, oh big bad wolf, I would love to hear what you think of me"
"You're clearly smarter than you let on. You're incredibly observant and you have a very sharp wit," I grinned at him, wickedly, and he raised an eyebrow. He leaned back in his chair and folded his arms, "I bet the whole mute thing helps with reading people, doesn't it?" he grinned back.
"Maybe, maybe not," I winked, teasingly.
"You're the silent but deadly type, you're powerful because you act behind the scenes. You know how to get your way, and you do it by having everyone wrapped around your little finger. You're the stoic master that allows your disciples into thinking they're free, when in fact, you easily control them." I mulled this over in my head.
"And what makes you say this?" I asked.
"When we first met, at the amusement park, unlike the rest of your friends you were able to keep your cool in a situation like that. On top of that, all you did was nudge that other boy, and he got the rest of the group to follow your silent order and retreat."
