Damien's POV:
I've been thinking about Rayden's advice, and I think that I should probably approach Jia. She is my mate after all, and I know I am not my father. I'll talk to her and see what she thinks. I hope I haven't made her upset with my reaction to her today. I don't want to see her upset, though I doubt that's how she will be. Angry maybe, but not upset. She is quite feisty, which I really like about her...
I go into the kitchen. It's around dinner time, and we have leftover pasta from yesterday. Aaron had to go with his father for an Alpha task, so feeding the girls is my duty. I heat up the pasta and put it into four plates. I grab a bottle and pour some warm milk for the baby girls as well. I think I'll offer Jia food as a peace offering. I grab the plates with forks in them and walk down to the basement. I go into Michelle and Soph's room and give them their pasta. Both don't say anything to me. Michelle gives me a once over, and then stares at me. I think she told them about our mate situation.
"I'm going to fix this." I tell her. I feel like I have to explain myself to Michelle. She seems to have a motherly behaviour towards the other two, and it just feels right.
"You better. She's been hurt before, so if you hurt her, I will personally make sure you never see daylight again." She glares at me, feeding the baby girl the bottle and then turning to her food.
Hurt before? What does that mean? I'll have to ask Jia about that because it seems I have been dismissed from here. The wolf in me lets out a growl at the though of our mate being hurt.
I nod and then leave, closing the door. I walk up to Jia's room. I check the camera, and find that Jia is sitting there, possibly mind-linking the other two. I open the lock of her door. She looks up and stiffens when she sees me. She's still in her chains, which now that I think about it is not fair to her.
"Hey..." I say, walking in.
"What do you want?" She asks angrily.
"I just brought some food. It's around dinner time and I thought you would be hungry." I drag the table that's in the corner of the room and put it in front of her, placing the pasta. She looks at me.
"Uhmm, I'm tied up, so if you could open it.." She says, her eyebrows raised.
"I was just gonna do that." I take out the mini key from my pocket and untie all her chains. She looks at me confused because I was supposed to only unlock the chains around her arms.
"It's not fair for you to have the chains when the other two don't." I say shrugging. I then bring the chair that's also in the corner and sit down in front of her. We both eat in silence for a few minutes. Her scent is overwhelming, and all my wolf wants to do is grab her and hold her tight. I know that won't sit well with Jia. She doesn't seem the type to trust too easily. I clear my throat.
"I have to talk to you." I say. She looks up, a frightened expression on her face but she quickly conceals it, looking indifferent. Wait. Does she think I'm going to reject her...
"It's not what you're thinking." I begin. "I wanted to let you know that I want to be mates. It's all a little confusing right now because the Blue Moon Pack has been cursed to never find their mates, and I thought all this was fake. On top of that, you're from the Midnight Pack, which makes us being mates even more of a problem."
"I under-" she begins but I cut her off.
"Let me finish." I say. "But I don't care about all that. My father was a horrible person, and he was mated to my mother even when they were not destined mates. He treated her horribly and she then committed suicide. I am not my father, and I don't care which pack you are from, you are my mate, and I am going to accept you." I say, and then look up at her.
